Speaker Baffle

I had to get new speakers for my 2005 lt because the front 2 died for no reason. I got Alpine SPR-17C and installed foam baffles also. Does anyone have any experience with the baffles on should I keep them or not. I live in Michigan and it is snowing here a lot so I at least want to keep them on during the winter just in case my seal is leaking a little in my window. Thx for all your input.

I have some installed, sounds fine, but I still lost another speaker...I am going to rerun all my wires this winter, and if I loose another speaker I'll end up buying some Marine grade ones.

Did you cut your baffle at all or just leave it and have a small hole for the wires?

small whole for the wire, and as for pictures, nothing to see, it's just a speaker....(with rusty metal on the back and won't give me a solid "4ohm" resitance (or 6 or 2 or whatever it should be, jumps from .2-12 or so)

if anything make a splash shield out of abs of lexan if you are truly worried about it, but if your getting that much water in your door, you have a problem.

also if anything, take some sound-deadener and make a cup around your speaker.

it's a plastic baffle, and I have been trying different things each time. If I try a 3rd pair thats not marine, then they will be sealed from behind. the first set was rusted on the back (coil) I'll also be checking the wiring.
