Sub/Amp In my new car

I just purchased a 2007 SS LSJ last night and I want to hook up the sub that I had in my truck. Its a JBL 350W RMS and I was powering it with a mono MB Quart amp. I know how to set up an amp and sub but what im not sure about is the stock amp because of the Pioneer sub it comes with. Do I need to only have one sub or can I use both? Will it sound okay if one is stronger then the other?

2 different sized/model ect drivers shouldn't be in the same vehicle playing the same frequencies. You get acoustic cancellation and the sound gets muddy. It sorta depends on the specs of the drivers on how bad it is thou some people still do it and dont care.

If you do decide to use both the stock amp should still power the stock sub and be seperate from the new sub

To use both subs you will have to wire them in parallel or series (your only those two choices). Because of the math that is involed you should have the same "ohm rated" subs hook to one amp. If not it could damage the subs, amp(s), and WILL cause the music to sound like junk. Just like what EmperorJJ1 said.

Reklo87 I would have them hooked up to different amps though so I wouldn't be wiring the two subs to each other. Id have the JBL wired to the speakers though.

In that case I wouldn't even bother with the pioneer sub then. The different subs will just make the other sound like crap. Plus I don't like the stock mounting of the sub. The best results are when the sub is facing froward or backward in the trunk not sidewards. You do what you want but I am speaking from my knowledge of read about this stuff. I hope this helps and doesn't confuse you.

if ur keeping everthing stock other then the sub id recommend tapping the sub wires for the LOC vs the rear. either or works but the sub is the best option

im also having to switch my m3's from my 05 LS to my 07 LT. the LT doesnt have the pioneer stock speakers as my LS did. when i had them hooked up in my 05, i still had my stock stereo with a weird ass audio converter that tapped into the wiring harness running to the stock pioneer sub, that still functioned. im just hesitant to try rewiring my hookups considering the stereo and speakers are different.

get a polk audio mm1040 and a 350watt one channel alpine amp. sub fits perfect in stock box minus dremeling the back of the casing a bit and taping it over. calls for .6 cubic feet and thats what the stock box has to offer. sounds great. peace

well I just finished hooking everything up and I attached the LOC to the stock subwoofer wires. It works but its not hitting as hard as it should be. I sounds exactly like the stock Pioneer sub and u know it hits harder then that.

UPDATE: on a whim I removed one of the RCAs and it instantly hit MUCH harder. So now my question is which side should I remove, left or right?

neither. means your LOC is wired incorrectly so if u change either one of the sides (only one left or right) it would work properly and play the best/loudest. You also want to redo your settings to make sure you dont blow anything. Oh and if you really want to do the proper thing figure out which one is backwards and change that side but realistically you can change either one side and it would work
