Whats good way to stop this from happening? I just want some ideas. I was told to do velcro. Looking for other ideas...

on my old cavi, I used 1 1/2" angle brackets and screwed them into the box and the botom of the trunk, don't think anyone would want to put holes in a brand new Cobalt though, so it's just an idea, not really a suggestion

Yeah it is an idea, but you are right, I don't want to drill holes!

get a heavier sub "and now for a better answer"

you can get your box resurfaced with a rougher carpet.

brackets are the way to go... brackets if done right will also deter theifs from "borrowing" your subs, you should just use a strange type of screw or bolt to fasten them in

plus if you use brackets with screws it counts as permenantly mounted to your car, so you insurance company has to cover it if it does get stolen...

i have two 90 degree brackets holding down my box in the back and two like thin hole metaly strips holding it in the front up to the croos beam in teh trunk. it doesn't move at all and i have 2 12" L7 Kickers in a 3/4 mdf box and two amps and two caps attached to teh box. so it pretty heavy.

I just put down a rubber mat the size of the trunk. NO holes.
