You cant go wrong with JL Audio, they make good ****. However, the RE "SE" series or better will stomp on JL all day long. The RE "XXX" series will crush even the famed JL W7's

i wouldnt use that box but if you did then the JL w3s. wx's are straight garbage tma bullshit renamed JL since no one was buying the tma. if you go fosgate do the R2 over the R1 its worth the extra money. kickers would be the loudest but they really need to be ported. it would sound fucked in a sealed box

Sorry for the confusion earlier. Sarcasm doesn't transfer properly online lol. The W3s are really good pound. I use to have W1s and those were great but it all depends on what you want. My W6s are heavy hitters and definitely shake rattle and roll everything in the truck its in lol.

it looks like hardly anyone in here actually knows their car audio. JL subs you pay for the quality. sound quality is going to be better than kicker or R.F especially those two other options. If you go with 2 w3v3s, push em with a 500/1 and it'll be extremely loud if you want. 1 12w3v3 in a ported or sealed box WILL shake your cobalt hands down. so its up to you hope this helps

And how many times more expensive is JL than Rockford or Kicker...about 2-3x. Ill take the cheaper one that puts out about the same power. The only people that could possibly tell a difference would be severe audiophiles.

Resonant is better for the same price. FYI buy a resonant engineer sub (SE series or better) and you WILL NOT GO BACK to main stream car audio (JL, Kenwood, kicker, RF, etc)

Not sure how you mean, possibly with the lower line stuff maybe. but their mid to high end stuff is still better that JL's or kickers mid to high end stuff.

There is a dealer in Tulsa. I was not impressed with the 18 they were showing off. My friends L7 15 was way louder and a quarter what they wanted for it. That and the fact they wanted like 800 for a sealed box for a single 10. and it was mdf not even fiberglass

Someone was WAY over charging for it then. And if your buddies L7 was louder, then they were either faking the funk on what series of treo it was or did not have the treo in a correct application. Also, if you're are listening to a sub inside a car vs inside a stereo show room, the sub in the car has a way bigger advantage because it does not have as much space to fill with sound. If you are going to accurately compare subs, you have to compare both subs in the same car or in the same room/space

what i meant was when alot of companies are more underground then become well known their product gets worse and i RE has done that. the new X line of subs is just eh compared to their older counterparts. I know an SE would destroy a W3 in both SQ and SPL and give a w6 a run for its money sq wise and win with spl. the new SEx thou maybe maybe not.

JL AUDIO 12" VENTED W7 SUB BOX SUBWOOFER 12W7 ENCLOSURE - eBay (item 130525806366 end time Jun-26-11 17:01:05 PDT)

and I bought a JL 12" W3 to put in it.. and I'm using an Alpine MRP-M500 amp because I already have it. - Hopefully it'll sound good!
