Buy a high end battery, put caps on your amps, and if you still don't have enough juice, consider getting your alt rewond for higher output.

Battery Isolation kit, sold at you better auto parts stores. You shouldn't need an extra battery though, as suggested above replace the factory battery with an optima and add a capacitor to your system. I just added the capacitor, even 1 farad is usually enough to keep the headlights stable.

Optima Yellow Top should handle it fine. And if you get a cap on each amp you'll be even better. IIRC, its about 1 farad for every 500 or 1000 watts of amp power. Brain fart right now.

*Edit*
The do make high farad multi amp capacitors, so you could always look into one of those as well. Most likely will be way more farads then you need, but it won't hurt you none.

2 amps, lol, YES, you HAVE to get a CAPACITOR (example http://www.tsunamionline.com/product.php?id=59 ) . A capacitor is like a battery except the charge and discharge times are near instantaneous, it will improve the entire electrical systems response.

WHAT!!! I'm an electrical engineer, that cap will hold a charge for months if there is no load. Once it is initially charged it actually reduces the load on the alternator as it is harder to charge the battery than the capacitor and the capacitor takes over the momentary high load draws of the amplifiers and relieves the battery of that duty. Hell the coil packs are basically capacitors!

so a cap actually is better then trying to run your amp on a battery alone

YES, all electronics have capacitors built into them to stabilize the voltage, external capacitors are "storage" capacitors and again, reduce the cycling of the electrical system.

you need a high to low signal converter http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...C4&c=3&tp=1276 and run it off of the rear speakers, then the power comes form the battery to the capacitor then to the amp, the ground goes parallel to that.

that puts everything in the trunk

With a good battery like an optima, you should be fine, but if you plan on jamming alot with the car off, a second battery is not at all a bad idea. Caps or capacitors are like a small second battery only the discharge large amounts of power very quicky to help stabalize a system that is being jammed hard. That alone would probably be good enough, but I actually have 2 batteries and a cap, some will say overkill, but it works well for me.
I have my batteries wired to an isolater relay, (not necessary but it works well for sitting in the park listening to music for long periods of time with the car off). Mine is wired so the main battery is on one side of the relay and the audio system is on the other side, so if the ignition is not in the run position, the audio is pulling from the second battery instead of the main. If that batterty goes dead, i just turn the key on and walla, i just jump started myself, lol. I don't know if this makes sense but my kinetik batteries instructions say they could also be wired with the positive to positive and negative to negative also. But it is recommended that you have 2 of the same make and age batteries.

thats definitely overkill for a cobalt, as any system that needs that much power will literately shake a cobalt to pieces. Last time I needed a different alternator and 2 batteries I was blowing out rear window seals.....

i wouldn't say overkill, especially if you're running alot more than just a couple of subs and amps...

computer system, etc.

Well mine still rattles and I have dynomat on the entire interior, like headliner and carpet out install, and I just have two 10's with 300 rms on each (150 per voice coil, 2 2ohm coils per sub)

well with this subject there is what you need and what you want and I guess nothing is overkill if YOU want it......

lol, I put in a switch in the dash to kill the sub altogether because the girl wouldn't get in the car if it was on!
