Thoughts on MTX Audio?

At my work we carry a exclusive of MTX audio. im looking to replace our stock 10 with a MTX custom encloser in the trunk, just one 10.

my other options are infinity also...

the MTX seem to be better quality, they are not plastic and are fine stiched.

ive never really heard much about MTX. anyone have some more experience with them?

never been a fan of mtx... but I have heard a mix of good and bad, just like most companies... i'm sure you'll be happy with it, they do hit hard

are u looking at the thunder thins? Surprisingly enough i was "surprised" with the thunder thin 12 we did at the shop. Replaced an RE SX 12 with a thunder thin 12 off the same power (i tuned it vs some douche having everything all the way up) of course it wasnt SX loud but still sounded good

speakers yes, subs no no no. Infinity has nothing that can touch an old school MTX 9500. nothing.
Alpine type X's are good but just loud
Kicker (what i have, 10 inch L7) the L Series are great
Polks Have good quality but not so much on the loud part
IMO The MTX 9500 combines loudness with sound quality. But hey thats just me, everyone has there own taste.
Best way I can put it, is go listen to a few subs you are interested and pick the one that sounds best to you.

emperor, have you taken the new master MECP test yet, now that ive got another guy who runs an audio shop on here. I took the old master beginning of 07, and im training a couple of my guys for it because i require a Master certification level to work for me. So im just curious if anything is different.

**** anything. RE mt is louder and cheaper, DD 9500 is louder and sounds better.

the only thing i can give mtx credit with the 9500 is it can take alot of abuse. but it doesnt really excel in anything. It gets pretty pretty loud but not the loudest, IMO it sounds like crap but still sounds better then most real competition woofer. and most importantly its expensive as hell. if your going to waste money get a JL W7 that way at least it will sound clean and all the fanboys will love ya

i failed it 5 times before i finally passed it. but i passed it. it kicked my ass though. It helped me out when i applied for a few sponsors. But other than that, no one not in the car audio field knows what it means
