Time for new Door Speakers.

My passenger side door speaker is crackling while music is play, so I may have gone too hardcore on a couple drives.

I'm curious if anyone has some suggestions for a good pair of replacement speakers for the front doors. I'd like there to as little wire work as possible. I'd like the quality to be equal to or better than the OEM Pioneer speakers.

Thanks!

Well since you have the pioneer audio option, you should look for 2 ohm speakers since the pioneer stock system is 2 ohms. I have some infinity reference series 2 ohm speakers in the front and they sound much more clear but not as much bass as stock, but I dont mind since the stock sub makes up for it. You can go for 4 ohm speakers but you will lose some volume.

I enjoy the bass it has currently with stock speakers. So I'll look for some good 2 ohm front speakers then. Time to buy some door panel clips and tear into it.

you will probably loose some bass with any option. so if you really want to keep the "bass" that the front speakers have you will want to do some sound dampening on the doors

Anyone ever ordered new oem speakers before? If so from where? I see eBay has a bunch in their search menu, but I'm skeptical it will be the correct speaker, make and model.

are they listed as pioneer? the 2 ohm pioneer speakers are very different from the 4 ohm base speakers. other than the impedance that should be stamped on the back an easy way to tell is the pioneer speakers dont have the bracket... they look like a normal speaker.

honestly i would just get a pair of 2 ohm JBL or infinity's and do some sound dampening. The clairity will be worth it and you probably wont notice a bass loss if there is one.

If you're worried about losing bass from the front door speakers, you can always plumb in an aftermarket amp/sub to help out. I added an amp I had around to my stock sub and it made it much better IMO. I'm far from an audiophile though, so take my advice lightly. EMP is the man when it comes to this area.

I just bought these, I'm pretty excited to get them in and see the difference.
