Time for a new headunit.
Time for a new headunit.
Getting sick of listening to the radio/ the same 2 cd's over and over again.
I'm liking the kenwood ddx470, its sleek looking and it'll do the job. Dont really want anything too fancy.
Anyone ever had one of these or play with one?
Also, it says I'm gonna lose my driver info center upon installing, what would I need to fix that?
Thanks.

looks pretty nice i haven't used one personally though. You wont lose your DIC, the only thing you really have to decide when installing is if you want to use the cheap harness or the module harness. Since 2006 model balts don't have the chimes going through the radio the only incentive of the module harness is its easier and would give you line level inputs instead of speaker level (which would be the "correct" way to interface with the stock amp)

that would depend on your listening habits. The only difference between the 2 is going to be voltage. Speaker level is about double the voltage of line level (very roughly). So you have the ability to put more power to the stock amp which would eventually cause issues with the speakers and or amp BUT... you just can push more power to the amp you dont have to. What this means in the real world is you would go from stock volume 1-30 to say 11-40.
So you lose volume 1-10, but otherwise 11-30 would be exactly the same as stock. as long as you don't go above the 30 the chance for any equipment failure would be exactly the same either way
Personally i would choose the cheap harness if it was my vehicle since the cheap harness cant or wont fail (the module harnesses are pretty good from metra, others arent as good but any of them have the possibility of breaking) You could also technically buy the cheap harness and solder RCA connectors for line level but that's a little complicated.
