Thumbs up Traction Control On/Off?

I was wondering if there was any way of installing a switch to turn traction control on and off. I know you can take the tuning route and just disable it, but i live in a snowy climate on a dirt road and need it. I was just curious if anyone knew how to wire up an override, or if is even possible. Thanks.

I have a 2006 SS sedan, sadly they didn't give us one.

close enough to being a non ss : p, anything is possible, you may be able to get away with just splicing a couple wires, or it may be as complex as a pcm flash and a new wiring harness

idk if it is like my old g5 gt, but if you have auto you can put it into L or pull the E-brake up just 1 notch, either one should take the t/c off. If those don't work sorry =/

I was aware of the L thing, but I didnt mention it because I figured he knew about this, and didnt want to be limited to 1st, or 2nd when his t/c is off,
I know on my t/c i can pull the pbrake up 1 click and it will disable the autolights, but soon as I start moving it enables them again, it wouldnt surpirse me if it worked the same way on your cars with the t/c

Thanks for the E-brake trick! It works in that it disables it. I'll have to see if it stays off when I move around. If it does I can find the switch it activates and put a parallel switch in place. Then all I'll have to do is flip a switch and it will be off! I already have a switch plate installed in the cubby where the trunk release is, so it will be a breeze.

If it were me I would just disable it permanently. IMO traction control is more for people who don't know how to control wheel spin and/or drive in the snow. Just my opinion.

You know you can simply remove the daytime running lights' (drl) fuse if you don't want them coming on.

Well, I do want them coming on, its just annoying that during the dusk period, they will come on, and dim the rpd so its very hard to see,

This is true but it's not the drl's coming on that dims the dash lighting - it's the auto headlights. Sadly, the headlight switch does nothing for our cars - you can turn the auto headlights off with the switch (when parked) but as soon as you release the park brake they come back on

It's as if they don't think we are smart enough to turn our own lights on when it gets dark.....damn nanny state we live in
