Do all 07 cobalt ss/sc come with the upshift light? Either I don't have it or it's not working.

i saw a video on youtube with one that had it

 

Mine has an upshift ligth in the corner above the rpm's. It shows it in the manual and you can kinda see it by looking at it, but I've never seen it turn on at all.

 

It's only on the LS/LT where it actually works. My old LS had it and it drove me nuts. It's there for the idiots who don't know how to drive a stick.

 

at high rpms mine turns on sometimes...................i also know of a few redlines this has happen 2

 

it only works if your foot is below 25-35% throttle........STAY OFF THE DAMN GAS lol or close to redline (my 2.2 does it all the time)

 

apperently we have one... but i think we came to the conclusion its set to turn on at RPM's above stock redline/limiter cause some people can get it who have raised thier rev limiter and redline that.
And noone can figure out how to tune it so it works... not all that nessisary anyhow

 

Just want it for good gas mileage while driving around the city, 17 mpg sucks.

 

Get rid of that led foot haha

 

thats the funny thing.... i can drive it like a granny and shift at 3k rpms and the mpg is still shitty.

 

i think the shift light works pretty well, it sets itself at different points depending how you drive, if you are just driving normal it tells you to shift at about 3-3.5k and if you are flooring it, it will tell you to shift at 5.5-6k, this is pretty awesome considering a shift light that just does one RPM costs around 150 bucks. I am actually "moving" my shift light to a more visible location on top the dash, mainly it will be helpful for Autocrossing, or any other racing event, when its easy to forget to shift.

thanks for the replies. I'm getting like v8-type mileage around the city, it's really pissing me off. On the highway its fine though.... 30+ mpg. I duno.

 

why do u have 2 posts? it does have a upshift but for the ss/sc its to tell you when your engine will blow basicly. most people will never see it. if you want better gasmilage in the city, turn off the boost in 1st gear til 4000 rpm, you can also turn it off in 2nd also... that means you would be a N/A 2.0 til 3rd.

i did it in 1st and my gas for city went up about 3-5mpg, if you did it in second also it would make a huge difference

 

How is that done? Do I need to take it to a shop?

hell no i didnt buy a supercharged car to take off boost... lol if anything ill take it off 5th and 4th
