What amp for JL w3's?

So I blew my amp last night. Had an older JL audio (not sure of the wattage) amp, it was a little in size though. I'm trying to push two 12" w3 (i think, the place that installed them didnt tell me **** about what they are and i'm too lazy to take them outta the box to check). What kind of amp would be ideal for this setup? thanks guys.

JL 300/2 or if you want to push the subs more to their limits a 500/1. I had 2 12w3 v3's running of a 300/2 and they sounded good but I switched to a 500/1 and they were so much louder and they semmed to handle it fine.
