What was done to the BALT TODAY!

Hey i kno the pictures are kinda bad because it was dark. But i wanted a lil more bump and something nice without spending to much money so i picked up a rockford fosgate p1 12 inch sub. a box. 200watt 2 channel rockford amp the amp wiring kit warrantys on the sub. and a switch all for 250 bucks. My friend installed it for free and i must say it is the best 250 bucks i have ever spent the cars system sounds so clear now and has just the right amount of bump. The stock pioneer is still pumping with my p1 it seriously is a great setup for something not to crazy!

he tied into the back speakers and we hid the jack thing up in a groove on top of the trunk which is held onto by double sided tape it came out awesome all wires are not shown except the ones running into speaker and amp we didnt go anywhere in the car except the trunk well i take that back with took the switch and ran it up to the drawer near the foglights which all the wires are tucked and we set the switch just sitting in the drawer to turn the amp off. He installed it all in about a hour!

yes but it fits in perfectly and looks awesome the way it leans. I have a ported box for it just didnt have it because its 30 mins away from my house. I paid 20 bucks for the box off my friends uncle. To be honest i like it and i still have trunk space with it!

Not bad at all! I'm considering doing the same thing since I already have that same combo sitting in my garage right now collecting dust. I like the truck box idea sitting like that it looks custom made almost.

Nice job. I have two of the P1's in my car. I just recently installed a aftermarket head unit and they sound 20 times better then when I had the stock head unit in. If you can in the future think about upgrading it.

looks good man but i wouldnt tap into your rear speakers for a sub... your sub is ment to hit the lows... an you rear speakers are playing some low highs all mid range and some high lows (if that makes any sence).. subs are not inteded to play any mids through them an you will end up damaging the sub... there is an adapter that we used in my freinds gtp to hook it up to the stock deck.. it hardwires into a power line an your bass control on the stocker.. it puts all your lows to the sub (but it also leaves it on the stock speaker which sux) the only way to get the bass off the stockers is get a hu... on mine i have the bass turned all the way down an the sw all the way up an everything is crystal clear... but it looks reall good man

you do realize that taping into the deck vs the rear speakers yelds the same freqs right? the deck doesnt have a sub out or anything close so all outputs would be 20k-20hz. THats why the amp has a crossover

x2, when I tapped mine into the rear speakers it sounded terrible.

So I upgraded the factory deck to a mp3 unit w/ Subwoofer out, and it made a HUGE difference. I know its a lot of work running Rca's from the cd deck to the trunk, but only takes a max of 10 minutes? and it's definitly worth it

I've heard them sound good and bad both ways. More often, they'll sound bad piggybacked off the rear speakers, but most people it sounds bad for can't configure their crossover properly (or don't have one) and leave their line level converter to the max setting. (well that's going to let the most bass through, right?? - yes - and the most distortion)
I just put in a rockford p3002 amp and a rockford p2 10". (Had 2 of them, but my factory highs couldn't compete) It's piggybacked off the rear speaker wires with a line level converter and sounds just fine after tweaking the built-in low-pass filter on my amp.
(Oh yeah, and it's not always about having to go through the pain of running some RCA's - Some people (like me) are still running the factory deck as well.

Either way - have to love that battery in the trunk.
