brick i'm sorry about that. i'm aware that your "with it" when it comes to this stuff, just empjj and i actually chit chat on aim from time to time. the experience i've had talking to him is what led to my statement.

Just stick with the single 12" and pound the hell out of it. A single sub that is powered to it's full potential like yours is will sound tighter and more punchy. I had a 15" Kicker SL5 in my Sunfire for a while. I had it in a sealed box and it was still stupid loud. However, it was rated a 750rms (in a sealed box, it could handle 1000rms EASILY) and it was only getting 550rms. It sounded kinda "muddy". 15's also produce crazy low frequencies that aren't really audible and do serious damage to your eardrums. I learned the hard way. I much prefer my properly powered JL 10w6 in JL's "high output" ported box. I can push it hard. It sounds tight and clean, and it doesn't produce crazy low frequencies and excessive sound pressure (dB's).

I just noticed that you have a sealed box. Like Emp says, go ported. Buy a sheet of 3/4" MDF for ~$40 and build a properly spec'd box. If you don't have tools, find a buddy who does!

sry man but its easier to get louder on higher frequencies. and the size of the cone has very little with how the speaker actually "sounds". L5s are in general muddy sounding **** speakers that are meant to get loud not really sound good. jl w6s are the complete opposite hence why they sound better

a 15" w6 will sound way better then a 15" L5 but the L5 will smash the w6 on overall output without even trying

I would recommend Alpine 12" type R paired with their 500 or 1000 watt amp. I have it in my trunk in a vented box with the 500 watt amp turned way down and it's LOUD.

Yeah i did just that. im so glad. I wont ever go sealed again, properly tuning a box isn't that hard anyway.

But dont worry Im good right here. IDK if its me or the car shaking but the head unit gets blurry it hits so hard. Now Im trying to make my car not rattle so INSANELY MUCH

Well yeah damnnn haha. yeah Im aware of the pros of sealed - thats why I went that way in the first place, but strait up personally, if I throw a sub or two in my (big enough) trunk and I want to shake **** Im def going to vent it for now on.

correct... properly. could i do it??? probably. i still have space behind my box, if i were to do some external port out the rear deck and make a new box all the way to the back then i would have an ok ported box (not good but ok)

again it comes to the point of probable vs possible. alot of things are possible but alot of things don't make sense even thou its possible. My setup is pretty damn loud and i really don't want it louder for me listening to it to be honest. ya id like to hit a 150 to brag but i wouldn't listen to it "louder" then what i have now so throwing another grand into the system to make something crazy just so it can get louder and sq wise sound worse just doesn't make sense... bragging rights dont come before me enjoying the music

i'm suprised no one asked how the audio is tuned? and you like the distorted bass that you can't hear anything.

solo x's arent even in the same class as a cvx

a solo x will make a cvx look like a little 8 inch 300rms sub
