Sounds like a ground loop. Have you tried grounding the inverter?

All i have is the positive and negitive wired up.

Positive - Direct to the batt.
Negitive - Grounded right to the chassy (the only ground i could find is the same one i am using for my capp.)

Hope that info may help.

You can't find another ground than that?

an lcd is a very sensitive piece of equiptment. so any alternator noise will casue static on the screen. That ground from the invertor to the battery is enough to casue that. I would reccomend putting in a ground loop isolator. Or at least try grounding directly to the battery and see what happens from there.

EMI...... check your audio/video/power wires..... use wire loom, twist the audio/video together for attenuation.... and separate the power, then your good to go.

i Have perfect video when waching a movie running or not,
i have distortion on my xbox when running but perfect when not.

I have the hu, 2 rca audio, and rca vid cables twisted and loomed with no power wires.

I tryed a ground loop for audio (radio shack) on the video cable but it cut all the video signal.
I will try a proper power ground loop but there are none in my small city so i need to order one online (50 amp).

I will also try the running the ground right to the batt. and see what happens..

Thanks for all the great ideas...

Ok guys i have not tryed evrything yet but i have some new info.

I tryed pluging my xbox into my house hold power while my car was running and the screen looked fine.

Also i looked a bit more into my wiring and i have a 40 amp relay in line with the power cable. to turn my inverter on and off with my amps. Also im running 2 chunks of 8 guage both 2-3 feet long (negitive and positive cables).

After talking to some guys at london drugs they said to try a monster power filter and see if that works.

So im done work at 2 and i will try..
1. Monster power bar
2. Move ground to batt.
3. Take out relay
4. Order in a Ground loop

If anyone has any other ideas or therys im all game... Thanks guys...

yeah those guys at london drugs know computers not cars. And they dont really know computers that well from my experience. The reason why it worked when you pluged it into household power is becasue that is an external power source - completely external and indepenent the car. you basically eliminated the ground loop problem. So that shows that is your problem. I would still reccomend connecting the ground directly to the battery. And dont bother with that expensive power bar, thats just gonna protect from surges, not smooth out the sinusoidal wave that is the transfer of your AC power.

So i have tried all my ideas.

1. Monster power bar
2. Moved ground to batt.
3 looked into a ground loop
ect.

It looks like i am out of luck... the only other think i can do is get a larger alternator

I also tried by putting in my ps3 in and i worked fine so that is my final thing
thanks for all the help guys.

If the screen distortion is only wile watching the 360 then you are only getting interference in your video rca. tell me how the rca is run ( path )

I only get distortion with my xbox when the car is turned on.

I have a set of rca and one s video wraped and loomed going from my deck down my passanger door to my trunk,
Then i have a coupler connecting the 15 foot rcas to the xbox video cable.
The i have the access zip tied together and straped to my spare tire.

When i use my ps3 i just connect the coupler with the new items in the trunk,

I have try the deck with
1. xbox 360 (worked fine with car off distortion when on)
2. Panasonic dvd player (worked fine with car off distortion when on)
3. PS3 (worked fine car on and very minor distortion when car is on)

Your video rca must be to close to the wire with the red arrow pointing to it. It runs from the battery on the passenger side to the driver side firewall where it eventually connects to the alternator. try isolating your rca at least 5 inches a way if not more.

Try running you wires like this

Thanks i will look into that,
When i did the "Big 3" i ran it all the way down the drivers side accross the back of the trunk to the batt.
But there is a chance i have the rca on top of the power because i mounted my xbox on the factory sub mounting bolts.

Thanks for the pics.

he should keep his RCAs away from ALLL power wires, including small 12v remote wires and what not...

it also depends on the amps/HU your running...when I had my eclipse HU i had a terrible problem with engine whine but when i installed my p4000 i cant hear **** for engine noise and nothing changed at all
