i have a car with no xm radio, but the factory desk had the hookup for it
i hoked up all the antanna and all wires

xm needs me to go to channle 0 and get the 8 digit number..

how do i get into the xm part

 

select the band button and it will cycle the modes 2fm 1am and 2XM modes

edit: selecting source will only go to the cd player

 

hum... i dont get that xm modes.

i was told by people in here and gm that all 2006 cd players are the same

 

is it installed correctly?

 

the antanna by rights dosn't have to be installed at all does it for you to be able to access XM through band

if so i can re check teh wires

can some one confirm that if they unhook the xm antanna they can get into teh xm 1 and 2 band?

 

you should still have the modes to select but I doubt you can receive a signal very well without the satellite antenna installed

 

Not to worried about a singal yet

i just wen tout and hit band i got am then FM 2 then FM1 no XM came on

if you look at the deck on a sunny day you can see all teh stuff on the screen with out it comming on and did not see any XM 1 or 2

where abouts does the XM show up on the deck

 

Like I said in your original thread asking if the decks are the same, I really doubt the deck is the exact same. The decks that have XM from the factory probably have some internal differences.

 

ok i will try to find a deck with xm and see

the thing i dont under stand is if so why do they all have xm hookup on the back
