Hot Rod Cop

What's up fellow Cobalt addicts, I just wanted to step up and introduce myself. My name is Brian and I am the proud owner of a 2005 SS/SC. I bought for my birthday(what a sweet gift).

Anyway way as you can tell be my tag, I work in the crime fighting field. I love my job and the day that changes will be the day I quit.

I am new to the compact scene. I have built muscle cars and hot rods and have had a few nice ones in the past. I wanted something small and SWEET looking to roll to work in so I got me a Cobalt.

I'm looking forward to working on it and adding some nice upgrades. I have learned a lot from all of you so far and am looking forward to learning much more.

Well that it I just wanted to say HELLO

Yet another member folks. What's up bro. Everything you here about .com is true. F-dot com. Losers! Sorry it's just any time you ask a question you get BS and there isn't nearly as much activity over there. You made a good choice.

Thanks for the warm welcome gang. I'm so stoked! Today I dropped my Balt off at the dealer to have them install my Stage I & II upgrade kit. I can't wait to get it back later today or tomorrow. This is the first upgrade I have done to it. OH wait the CobaltSS. net sticker I installed BOOSTED my visual rep, so ,I guess this is the second upgrade.

Yup Dezod, that STIFFY I bought about a month ago is still in the box, but don't fret it will be on this weekend now.

Well I meant to post this on Sunday, but it was still a very sore subject.

I dropped the car off last Friday to have the Stage 2 Upgrade kit installed. Well I did not hear from the dealership on Friday night so I figured "OK, I'll get it back on Saturday." Well Saturday rolls through and still no phone call. So at about 2 in the afternoon I call to see if the car is done. Everyone I talked to said "THERE IS NO Cobalt SS HERE" and "We don't even know what Stage 1 & 2 Upgrade kits are." OK SO NOW I'M PISSED.

I goto the dealer and find someone with a little bit of knowledge. He tracks down the car, which by the way was parked on the roof with rest of the new Cobalts(Mine is the only SS at the dealer). My car also does not have the plates on it, therefore it looks like a brand new car.

So anyway he finds it, then comes back to me a says "I'm going to get your car and find out about this upgrade kit." He disapprears for over an hour, comes back and tells me that the service tech who took the car on Friday was off, the Tech who installs the kit was off and the salesman who sold and ordered the kit was also off. On top of that there where no parts to install anyway. By this time I'm just STRAIGHT IRRATE! It takes him another hour to give me back my car.

On Monday I went back to talk to the Service Tech and the Parts salesman. The Service tech assures me that he will fix me up. I'll believe it when I see it. The parts guy tells me the parts got there on Friday and reachs under the counter and pulls out a box. "WHAT????" I say. "The parts where here the whole time?" He opens the box and shows what we thought was a Stage 2 Kit, but actually was only a Stage 1 to 2 Kit. So we checked the part number on the invoice, it matches the part number of the Stage 2 Kit. The box has the part number for the Stage 1 to 2 Kit on it. So he orders the right part, turns and tells me "It's on back order and will be here in a month and half. OUCH! I thought to myself. So I bought a GMPP exhaust instead. He ordered that and it will be here tomorrow.

I went to the dealer today to cancel the exhaust order, and the parts guy says Hey, YO BRIAN, I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU! I said "REALLY?????" He reaches under the counter and pulls out the same size box as the last one he ordered. I said "What the hell is that?" He says " IT IS YOUR STAGE 1 STAGE 2 Kit." I pop the box open and I"LL BE DIPPED IN **** if he was not right. There before me was this box filled with injectors, belts, pulleys and some nuts and bolts. I was stoked. But I have to wait until my next Overtime check to have the parts installed. I can't wait, NEW EXHAUST, MORE POWER OH and a K & N CAI on the way also.

IT'S GONNA ROCK!

I'll keep you guys posted.

That makes no sense. Stage 2 is the complete kit that you want. There is no such thing as a "Stage 1 & 2 kit". There is Stage 1, Stage 1 to 2 upgrade kit, and the Stage 2 kit.

Your right BooSSted, there are only 3 kits avalible. the first is a Stage 1 with injectors and the reflash. The second kit is the pullys and the belt(which what was in the first box) IE Stage 1 to 2 kit. The third Kit(Stage 2) comes with the injectors, pulleys belt, the new bolts and the speciality tools to install the pulleys(which was the kit I ordered and bought today). I apologize for the confusion.

FACT of the matter is that the dealership screwed up.

Oh and I'm working on that labor issue.

I edited this to reflect the proper parts as BooSSTed pointed out.
