concept 272 coblat ss intake possibility

https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/sho...mageuser=49328

Does anyone know if someone besides gm, has done this intake mod on an ss/sc, if so let me know.

The reading is a mouthful but i really want to know what my options are, im low on money but still want work on the car, this would be fairly cheap considering i don't mess up on anything.

This is for a 07 coblat ss/sc, stock besides a CAI.

My idea is to cut into my aftermarket CAI, and pretty much add another tube and a flat filter to act as a ram air intake. (Like a sti engine bay) except the scoop would be attached to the filter. The hood would have a hole, the size of the outer edge of the scoop, and it would fall over it. Then i would have a throttle body type restriction inside each intake pipe. My goal would be, to have the original cold air working until a certain rpm, then the air restrictor would open for the custom air intake and close on the original cold air.

What would be my options on tuning, would i even need to tune it; and what would i do about the MAP sensor, could i add a second one to the custom intake and just bridge it off of the wiring to the original MAP sensor. Is there a way to switch which MAP sensor is being used, when the pipe restrictors change.?

Would would be the effect on hp, torque, mpg, or anything else you can think of.

Thanks for sticking with me on this.

You can add a leaf blower also and get the same results.

But I havn't seen it done yet. Dosen't mean it hasn't been though.

There was an ad on here for a car that had a pig snout looking intake mod like that. Looked terrible. Don't you dare.

I just think it's funny how he's talking about switching map sensors at certain rpm and other guys are talking about switching off they're supercharger to the turbo at certain rpm
