custom 2.2 air to air fmic help

Hey everyone. I have the zzp stage 2 turbo kit and i want to convert to air to air. just asking for any recommendations on piping kits or sizes for anything.

im think 2.5" piping with a 27x6x25 fmic or something like that. reason i want to get 6" tall is because im weary about fitting it behind my bumper cuz i had problems fitting the heat exchanger.

probably going to run a 3" short ram maybe cai if i feel up to it.

mounted my MAP as close to throttle body as possible with the BOV on the cold side somewhere before the MAP. Any suggestions?! Thanks!

I did 2.5" piping. I forget the dimensions on the core. If you shoot me a PM I can get some pics and dimensions for you.

I fit a 28X7X2.5 behind mine but im also an ion. I have 2.5 piping.

I ran my BOV on the hot side and my map on my intake mani. My MAF is located on the cold side where the pipe goes up and has a full 6in of strait pipe before the maf so it registers air correctly

Mine is 28x9.25x2.75. I would go with 7" rather than the 9" i have a rk sport front lip and the nubs on the bottom of the IC are flush with the bottom of the Lip and thats a big lip so id say 7" or 6" behind a stock bumper.

You can also use an LNF stock I/C, as it bolts right up to the factory bumper and stuff. I did that on DFZ24's car when we switched his ZZP kit over to air-air.

intercooler i used. it had 2 mounting screws on top and 2 on the bottom. for the bottom, i used a long piece of flat metal with holes i got from home depot and i cut it short enough to mount from the intercooler to the car and the top, i had brackets i used to mount it to the bumper support

and installed. please ignore how crapily i cut out my grill...i literally used a hot knife to do it lol. took a butter knife, put it on the stove for a few minutes and melted out the grill lol

well ya behind the bumper cover but i mean hanging the fmic behind steel bumper and attached on the top and have it hang down. ill try and get pictures.

edit:
like this, i dont want that much of the intercooler not getting airflow behind the beam, i want to hang it under the beam

the majority of warm spots will be on the lower half anyways, it shouldnt matter that much.

i would say dont cheap out on the intercooler, you can get ebay piping but a shitty core is just gonna raise iats, be harder on your engine and make less power

well its not necessarily "ebay" its technically CXracing but from their ebay distribution channel. not much other places to get a 2.2 core without spending loads :/

The passenger side, I usually just bend the a/c lines around enough to pass a coupler through them. Not a big deal.

The drivers side usually has enough room as is, you want to turn in, then towards the middle of the car, then up to wherever you are going. Use some combination of tubing bends and 90 degree hoses to get there.

i got it, yea i just pushed the AC lines a smidge to get a 90 coupler in there and ran a pipe to a 90 to my intake. the driver side was easy after i slept away the frustrations from the night before. just waiting on a buddy to tig in the map and bov bungs

brags, one day i will see your car lol!
