No.

Seriously no.

For one, $100 for a turbocharger is STUPID cheap to the point that its going to be made out of glue or something ridiculous. ONLY buy quality turbochargers and try to buy brand new. You should honestly be spending anywhere from $750-1000 on a turbocharger. If you're not, then you're going to pay for it in the long run.

Garrett, Turbonetics, Mitsubishi, Borg-Warner...those are names you should be looking at.

njhk i do agree with you but you can find rebuilt turbos that are brand name for around 500. i think that is a pretty acceptable substitute for 100$ turbos but obviously new would be best.

I'm advocating buying brand new, thats why I gave that price range. I'm willing to bet he's buying his stuff off ebay, which he has no idea what these parts are off of, who the people are etc etc...he's likely to get a dud.

People fail to realize that turbochargers last a LOOONG time and its not normal for them to blow up. If you're like the normal person who drives 10-20,000 miles on your car a year then you have some time go.

Quality does matter.

the thing with a cx racing turbo, its that the internals are junk, dotn use them, forget about them.

get a t3 garrett turbo rebuild kit, its everything a real garrett turbo uses, your just using a different housing, wich is perfectly fine, i got my kitof ebay too. MAKE SURE YOU USE EVERYTHING THAT COME IN THE KIT
next YOU NEED AN OIL RESTRICTOR. they dont come with them.

if youve rebuilt it right, youve got yourself a garrett turbo for a 1/4 of the price.

ok for getting a used turbo, like the one youve found, you dontknow what the last person could of sucked up threw it.
get a new one, there not much more money

Here the turbo

Heres the rebuild kit

In this chevy magazine they made like 590 whp on a small block with a cx racing turbo kit, they seemed more worried about the internals of the small block then the compressor itself, but then again they were only running like 9 psi, nowhere near what a turbo lsj would need to make power
