Kenne Bell Supercharger

I recently emailed Kenny Belle and asked them if they had any interest in a supercharger for the Cobalt SS/SC. This is what they said:

At this time we do not have plans on offering a kit for your application. Sorry

Thanks for your inquiry.

If you want a Twin Screw. You're either going to have to e-mail the **** out of them or go the custom route.

So it souds A LITTLE, EANCY, WEANCY promising. Maybe they will have plans to make one in 4 years lol who knows, but yeah that would be sick. I love the gains on their superchargers

Hey guys, I'm new here.

I would put money on Vortec coming out with the 1st supercharger kit for the 2.0L I know its a screw-type blower and Vortec usually makes centrifugal ones....but they have SCs for so many different cars, and with a new model car, they are usually first to the market with them.

they dont make a direct fit but im sure with an adapter plate we could slap on the 1.3 whipple.

I hope so. What kind of gains could one expect from a supercharger Swap. Like the 1.3?

Would itmake More boost, or could it make the same boost with less powerloss? =more power

The Nice thing about the KB is that it makes a certain about of pressure and you get that from every RPM, they don't build like ours, but they also take more power to run so expect a decrease in MPG.

I believe somebody before said that you would get more airflow with a supercharger swap, not exactally more boost.

I could be wrong on this though.

you're correct.... the kb's they were looking at has more volume, and the kb's are also much more effecient than eaton blowers, so just from a swap you can get the same power from less boost... IIRC it's an 80hp upgrade just replacing the eaton with a kb on a cobra

A whipple would give you more boost with the same size pulley, when comparing it to the M62. Another benefit, is that the whipple doesn't create near as much heat, so you'd be able to run more boost safer then the M62. For what it's worth, a few guys tried making a custom kit for the supercharged Grand Prix's, and nobody successfully made it work that I know of.

I was looking through some ClubGP forums today and I saw a company called Animul that had a whipple kit that fit the GTP. They had the whole setup I think and the thread was a couple months old.
