question about turbonetics turbos

ok well iright now im leaning towards a garrett t3/t04e but ive been looking at the turbonetics line and the t3/t4's look nice....question is when i go to their pricing list i see stg's I-V......heres an example: t3/t4e-50 stg.2.63 now imj guessing the 50 is the trim and the .63 is refering to the turbine section?....just wondering if anyone knows anything about this since their price list has me confused

I believe the way they have it listed in stages is for the turbine wheels.

I don't want to give you the wrong impression so I'm not going to assume anymore. I'd go on their websites or try comparing each individual stages.

Yeah their web sight is kind of misleading. I was having trouble understanding them as well. The .63 refers to the AR. not the trim.

I'm going the Garret you mentioned personally. I know a sight that sells them for 575 shipped.

hey mike,

I was looking at their site and I've come to the conclusion

The lower stages have a smaller a/r exhaust housing
As the stages progress, either they change the a/r on the exhaust housing or they change the size of the compressor wheel.

It's not confusing at all. All you need to know is that higher stage = bigger wheel and slower spool (but more potential power). They have a quick reference chart on their website... or you can actually call their support line and they'll work with you to pick an EXACT turbo for your desired setup.

It wasn't that confussing. I just looked at the specs on each "staged" turbo to see what it said.
