Thumbs up rip out s/c and put in turbo need help gurus!

hey guys i have a serious question? If i were to take the supercharger off completly
and throw a T4 on there would my computer know?

I would love to make this setup but i dont want my computer to stop my car when i put it in 1st lol

here is setup:

Custom turbo manifold (got a friend)

T4 turbo-Specs
. 50 A/R COMPRESSOR
.63 A/R TURBINE
.57 TRIM
5 BOLT EXHAUST FLANGE

40 MM WASTEGATE,
WITH ADJUSTABLE BOOST CONTROLLED SPRING
10 Psi TO 18 PsI

turbo BOV

all the lines and what ever

then use this
10:1/12:1 FMU FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR

along with a a piggy back from rey and of the maf translator

new injecors and clip

Front mount intercooler

now if i got this all bolted up perfectly and started it up what would happen i guess that is my question?

Not too sure where to start, but my best guess is get a 2.2-2.4 intake and TB (not sure if they'd fit, just an Idea) or wield up your own custom intake and slap the TB unit onto it.

After that make your turbo fit... find a nice large intercooler to cool the charge, and purchase the stage 1 kit for the reflash... you might notice a happier revving engine with the S/C gone considering it's not robbing power to spin that pulley.

My guess that if you plugged the right plugs, and fitted the right fittings, (AKA maf translator) the Computer wouldn't notice the SC was gone.

No way man think like a shadetree mechanic... you can find a turbo from an 84 T-bird (Super 60) at the junkyard and rebuild it... get your friend to make a custom flange and manifold to fit onto the turbo and you've maybe spent a total of 3-400 beans on just the mount itself.

Don't go cheap on the coolant and oil lines though, get braided lines... safest bet.

You can polish regular exhaust pipe for intercooler piping,(mandrel bent is best) it'll look nice and cost half of what you would buy from a vendor... and buy industrial rad hose to use as connectors...

All this knowledge brought to you by your former Turbododge owner (Daytonas, LeBarons, Shadows, etc.)

buy-em cheap, build-em cheap, and break them even cheaper!

first off...i would not boost that high consistantly unless you think you stock internals can take it.....if theycant upgrade them before anything. or run low psi.

Why would you want to turbo the 2.0?

If your serious about the turbo, pull out the 2.0 and sell it with the blower attached. Drop in the 2.4 and put on a good turbo setup. You will make more power and it probably won't cost you anything cause your going to make a good bit of money by selling the 2.0.

It would most likely start as long as you reposition the sensors but the fuel maps would be way off. Youwould need more fuel in the middle RPM's when the turbo spools up. You might be able to drive it around as long as you don't give it all the throttle. How are you going to tune it?

The best way to go about it is to NOT rip out the blower. Instead, rip out the internals of the blower, but keep the blower's pulley intact. Now the blower is turned into an air intake and you don't have to worry about adding an after market FMIC, because you're keeping all your factory cooling system.

Cobra guys also do it when converting to turbos. Saves a massive load of work and money. You can also port the hell out of the blower to add a bit more flow. I also want to look into porting out the intake manifold that the blower sits on top of. It seems to be a thick chunk of aluminium that could benefit from porting.

You could look into the Sabb tubo setup.
It's based on the same engine.
2.0-LITER 4-CYLINDER TURBOCHARGED 210HP ENGINE

Engine specifications–2.0T
Type–Inline 4-cylinder turbo
Displacement–121 cu. in. (1988 cc)
SAE horsepower rating–210 hp @ 5500 rpm
SAE peak torque–221 lb. ft. @ 2000 rpm

ok, i think someone needs to calm down. you only have an ion rl... if you want to put that much money into a car why dont you just by a older cobra or camaro and dump all your cash into that. Im not trying to sound like a dick. My idea is after gm's stage 2, save up for a car thats really worth going crazywith. You know?

You need to convert the pulley system to a Saab 2.0t to eliminate the blower pulley. Next get the Hahn intake manifold. Next I suggest a 3071 turbo or a gt30r. Use a SMT6 with 4 extra injectors. You are set.
