S/C Owners MUST READ/LOOK!!! pics
Hey guys. I just wanted to make a thread stressing some important and phenominial things that can be done with the M62 blower. I recent uninstalled my blower along with the help of a good friend (07cobalt409) and sent it off to be ported, plugged, and powdercoated. I sent the blower off to Junior (aka Euthanasia) who complelty cleaned, prepped, re-oiled, ported, and eventually polished my blower. The plans were to powdercoat it, but after some research and a few days him and his buddy decided it wasn't for this blower because of the heat it takes to powdercoat it...Sooo, the blower, throttle body, and spacer with meth tap went to surgery. They complelty polished everything to an INCREDIBLE SHINE, then put some type of ceramic coating with clear coat, that from my understanding, was the very first M62 to be done (atleast in their hands)....So after approx. week and a half, I got everything back yesterday and spent some time getting it back together. I can tell you all this, not only is this thing ATLEAST 3 times as loud, but you can literally here the blower pushing the air through when the cars at idle...Also, So far, with just a couple good drives and pulls, I have seen about 15-20* IAT2's drop. Keep in mind the car is untuned, and right now is screwed up cause my 60s so the idle is all insane. (this will be fixed in the morning, go Trifecta!!) I also ripped off my valve cover and decided to take my time and do a good spray can job on it to match as well....Sooo.... enough talk, on to the pics!!!
Before:
Here's my valve cover before. Keep in mind I did everything to the valve cover myself, NOT Euthanasia, although he does offer powdercoating and polishing for them.
And FINALLY, the After:
polished...
To the coating..
Again, the valve cover I did a can job on..haha
And again, FINALLY, my pretty much finished engine bay (color match wise)...ignore the Injen Intake emblem being off...
I want to stress to everyone that Euthanasia is a great guy. He helped me and worked with me so much in having this in time for the GM Lonestar Bash. It was very stressfull considering he got pretty sick, and got in a wreck with my blower and stuff in the car!! haha he totalled his badass STI the poor guy. But anywho, you guys, the porting and plugging is a must. He does amazing work, and they can do whatever you want (specializing in polishing) This IS the guy to give you the best work, and the best pricing youll find. PM this guy ASAP...I will update tomorrow on how its improved even more after my Trifecta Tune Tweaking from Vince...

Thanks for all the comments. And im not into the chrome/mirror/polished look myself. Although i love the way it looks (so clean) but it doesn't match the theme of my car. (black n red) And Team Adrenaline, I was going to do Red Ridges to be unique...but not only was the price going to increase, but it was going to take longer to get done obvisouly, and im on a time frame do to the car show coming up. Im only 18years old paying for ALL my ****, so i cant buy anything and everything..haha
sure are!!!

Duno yet, didnt dyno before or after. But the IAT2's have definetly dropped a consistant 15-20*...and the car seems alot more responsive. BUT, the car has not been tuned for the port of the blower or the throttle body. I know it wont do a whole lot, but my tune for the 60s is screwed up, so Vince from Trifecta is fixing this in the morning.. I will make updates. And i MIGHT be getting dynoed tomorrow at a local shop, if they can squeeze me in their schedule. oh and thanks for the compliment!!

it was covered in a high temp coating and then sprayed with a few coats of clear. it looks even better in persom. the pics dont do it justice.
i feel wierd being a 2.2 guy in a 2.0 thread, but having had my hand in 100% of what kwest had done with his car i figured i could throw my 2 cents in. the charger is unbelieveably loud and the work that was done was top notch and professional. i cant wait to see what it'll do after getting tuned. just sucks that i cant go to the lonestar bash to see all my hard work and kwest's money in action!
(j/k kelby. someone's got mess with you. if not me then who will?)
if you do what kwest did and send it off, i believe it was 250 all together to have it polished

well what had happened was... the original plan was to have it powdercoated black, being as you have to "cook" something once its been powder coated the seals and what not cant go through that, much less the elec stuff for the tb. so they polished it to put the ceramic coating on and then the clear. before pics were sent the job was done. it was polished and coated before either of us knew about it. but like kwest said it looked amazing but wouldnt match the color scheme of his balt...

The finish on kwest's sc was giving it a show polish and doing a black chrome finish witch is done with ceramic clear and tinting it with a black powder. He wanted it jet black so we added as much black as possible to give it that powder coat look. But going the way we did instead of black powder coat he saved money because we didn't have to fully take apart the sc i.e. taking the snout apart and bearings in the housing out. This way here it air dry's but takes up to 7-8 days for the ceramic to fully dry and cure. And when it does it's hard as nails. And if the light hits the sc in a certain angle you can see a bit of the polish under the coating shine through. But this coating can handle 600-700* which the sc will never see. And unlike powder coat it will not fade over a long period of time.
