I think you can only bypass @ 4k and above through the computer. If you can do it below that I want to know where for my twincharge tune. I have searched and cant find. 1st and 2nd boost limits in torque management and it only limits above 4k. Also a couple other tables for the rest of the gears are from the same RPM range.

IIRC ZZP said you only lose a small amount of power when the blower is in bypass. So clutch should not be needed, maybe to recoop <10hp.

I think that having 3k rpm with a big turbo in full song would be great, especially if it's not waiting to catch it's breath.

call smg up! va beach isnt that far correct? and your in the service? maybe if you go on deployment again he could take your car and do it while your gone and have it sitting pretty waiting when you get home! no down time for you and he has time to experiment with the tune or whatnot to get the post out of it for you when you get back stateside!

Only thing is I just got back from a deployment in April. Had this been out last year, I'd have been golden. But still, there are ways around this. And I will be talking to them eventually.

I've never been there, but it seems that they are spot on with their work as of late.

They're the only place that touches my car for anything. Been working on my car for 3 years now. prices are great, you can call him with questions whenever and he'll answer them, quality is top notch, has all the stuff to do a full build in house and dynotune without leaving to go out of house anywhere. Cant beat it.

I have the same concept pretty much. I only have one person that tunes my car now. I am pretty interested to see what the tvs will max out at, and then I'll probably branch out and get some more done. But I am intrigued.

Even if the boost was controlled by rpm in different gears, it would still be a ridiculously strong build that no one would expect.

Someone correct me if my thinking is off.
Your thinking is correct but the same thing can be achieved by the M62 by using a smaller pulley.

The SMG and ZZP setup both use the stock 3.35" pulley on the M62. If they disengage the SC at 3000 or 4000 engine rpms the M62 is only spinning at 5600-7000 rpms.

If you wanted to get all of the low end boost available then install a 2.5" pulley on the M62. At 3000 engine RPMS the blower would be spinning at 7800rpms and at 4000 engine rpms the M62 would be spinning at 10,000 rpms. Still well within the efficiency range of the M62.

There are too many variables to begin talking about a compounded system.

ZZP does not advertise using a TVS with their Twin Charge kit. They actually advertise a trade your TVS for a Twincharge kit discount.

Yes

Probably not worth it for the 5-10hp it would save.

Over 400whp has been done on fordged internals not including sleeves. You should have a leg up on that.

I get what you're saying ebristol. I was just wondering if it would have any significant impact since I already have the tvs installed on my platform.

Does anyone know if Fred is offering this kit for the public yet? Im very interested, but i havent seen any dyno numbers or ballpark pricing. Ive been checking out the zzp setup, but realistically im not going to travel half way across the country for install.

Fred: Help me wake the beast!

I have had this idea for a few years... Damn you for being able to do it before me!!! J/K Glad it is working out for you, now I dont have to worry about my theory since you have proved it. Now I just gotta find a way to route the piping to the front since my auto trans doesnt have that fancy cutout... Also I will be using a CT26/M62 combo on a fully built 2.2 at stock compression(10:1)... Any tips? Also if you get a piping kit put together(minus turbo/WG/BOV/ect) I will probably be ordering it from you.

you should make this fit the auto 2.4 cars and route the pipe up the other side so we can have a rear mount turbo kit as well. make more cash for your shop since the smae kit could fit many vehicles with a small re route kit
