supercharge question. anyone?

do you really need a heat exchanger to supercharge a 2.2, yea i know the cooler it is the better. but is that optional? thanks for any response

The gm sc kit for the cavaliers come with no intercooling system and they warranty it
Ull be fine but still would get an heat exchanger system though

You don't need it, but why not run it? The manifold has it setup already for intercooling, it's not like you are going to have to add extra parts under the blower like some applications.

If you don't run a heat exchanger you probably shouldn't go lower than a stock pulley because the heat will go up too fast.

run the heat exchanger. its useless without it. even on a stock pulley. thats why the lsj had heat exchangers stock. you're going to have to block off the intake manifold to make it air tight(if you take out the laminovas). or leave them in and risk damage to them from the heat and not having any coolant run through them. also you WILL have to tune the car once the setup is on. and without the heat exchanger you will be running way too hot to pull any kind of timing and will only see a small hp increase over stock. then when you do get a heat exchanger you'll just spend more time reversing what you did to rig it to work the first time and then more money to have it tuned again.

stop half assing it, drive it the way it is now, save up your money, and do it right the first time.

Just do it the right way out of the box. I'm running a dual pass/opt b from the start so its less I have to worry about later on down the line. Thinking about even getting one of those ZZP spacers

Dont bother putting it on without a heat exchanger... Its cheap and you wont have IAT2's like me lol.

I basically dont bother going into boost ever since its no fun anyways.

I see on average not touching boost 170's and thats when ambient is 60-70 and if im on it ive reached as high as 195.....

Ive got my intercooling stuff sitting here...must do it asap!

Lowest id go with ll cooling mods and a good tune is 3.0 pulley. Thats what ill be going to shortly once I get my supporting mods done.
