Supercharger for dd 2.2
I have a 2006 2.2 l61 sedan. I want to either supercharged or turbocharge it. From what I have read on forums a supercharger would be the way to go. I just want a fun dd to drive. I don't want to go for massive whp numbers or anything like that just something to put a smile on my face. I have no knowledge of either of them just what little I have read from peoples posts.
If I put either of them on what else am I going to have to do, exhaust and other stuff? My car is completely stock atm. Any information wil help a lot thanks |
Stock exhaust is 1-5/8" so you will want to do full exhaust
Searching would be a start. Thousands of threads on this very subject.

I have done a lot of searching just a few questions that I couldn't find, I have read a lot o write ups on the different builds, just wasn't sure which way I should go either supercharged or turbo if it's a dd with no plans for racing

I DD my 07 2.2 SC and it's a blast and I'm spanking Hondas like a hot naked school girl(18 or older obviously) lmao. def.Want to do atleast a downpipe and catback of some sort.I have a stock SC exhaust manifold that I ported out,zzp 2.5 catless downpipe and custom 2.25 exhaust all on a 2.9 zzp pulley making 13 psi.Best 1/4 mile ET and mph is in my sig. It's def alot more fun than 150hp and I do this after every time I go WOT.:D

im about $1100-$1200 for the blower swap with a tune the exhaust I had when I was all motor which was custom made for $130 supplying my own muffler.then the zzp dp was what ever they run on the site. And I peiced mine together for about 1 month
i turbo'd my ls for DD, i like it. :P look at sig
1LowLS's car is titties. I have a 2.2 supercharged sunfire, with a 3.0, and its amid 13 second car. little slower then 1lowLS's. but still super duper uber fun. i would suggest at the least a 2.25 to 2.50 exhaust, and a intake for the blower. its super fun...
i bought most of mine all together, and total with the pulley and aftermarket stuff i bought i only have about 1900 into mine. |
So piecing together is cheaper then a lit I see. What does a turbo do to the mpg?
same as blower depending on injectors and your right foot. Both are boost controlled so if cruising your out of boost but injector will play a big role too.I have 60# injectors and running 13psi on stock internals and get anywhere from 20mpg to 32mpg depending on my right foot.
I have 60# injectors and a 3.0 inch pulley running around 14 psi and I get like 26mpg with a mix of highway and stop and go driving. Just depends on how often I decide I wanna hear the whine
exactly what I was saying. It all depends no the lead weight on your right foot
Let's be honest here. When you go boosted, your right foot turns into a solid block of lead :twothumbs
gold, lead, cast iron its all the same haha.
obviously my foot will be a little heaverier then it was when it is stock. but does just adding the supercharger do anything to the gas milege? or only because i am going to be driving it differently and more aggressive?
I get 20.1 mpgs, 7 less than when i was fully bolted/tuned.
oh wow. well im gettin 28 now so i imagine it will be about the same?
Just about. But im all city with a very heavy foot

Ill probably be the same way |
well good to know it not going to kill my gas milege to much. also putting in a cold air intake and an exhast will help a little bit right?
