supercharging 2.2l61

Well my first post here. Been on ecotecforum for a few years and figured I'd share my build with everyone here. Doing something sorta different here. I have an 06 and I'm doing a full swap to 07 so that I can use hpt for tuning. I just finished assembling the engine today. Its factory 07 motor with new everything even crank and main bearings. Eagle rods and 10-1 wiseco pistons. As well as balance shaft delete and full port and polish on the head. Motor install is coming shortly still have to get my clutch. Should be a powerful setup I hope.
Will be posting pics shortly.

Long block looks like it was put together nicely. How much do you have in the build?

Going to get you guys some more pics soon. Promise. I'm not doing to bad with investment about 2200 in the motor but everything is fresh from top to bottom. Only things original are the cams and block. I did everything myself except decking the block and the port and polish on the head. Assembling an engine isn't to bad. Most of the other parts I got used from Gus on ecotec forum. I got the intake and header port matched and got the blower ported and polished for 300. My engine guy swears to me at least 30 ponies off all the port work which if his figures are correct I'll be close to my 300 HP mark. If not there's always cams springs meth and a 10k rev haha

Well here's a pic I took after I put the zzp heat exchanger in. I'm going for full sleeper. I still have factory hubcaps haha. Oh if anyone is interested I make balance shaft deletes...cheap too.

Nice build, should perform nicely for you. Isn't a 10k rev a litttttle over the top for a street build? Lol

Well x the high rev idea. Cams are a mother to get for the 07. Exhaust is easy. Intakes gotta be a custom grind fml. Anyways that's not for a little while. And yes Honda's are big around here. The few cobalts I've seen here are jokes. Intake and exhaust they think they have a race car. Plus I have a few mustang buddies I'd like to surprise haha

Oh its getting done. I have to get this motor installed and broken in. Sucks that I'll have ass loads of power and can't use it for 500 miles. Oh and I have that whole wiring disaster to deal with going from 06 to 07

I did 1000 for my engine break in. And I don't think the grind of the intake cam is the problem, it's the "key" on the end that the sensor reads that has to be machined somehow.

What pulley and fuel are you using.Im built forged L61 on a 2.9 pulley(eaton m62) with E85 an a pretty good chunk of timing and don't think 300 is all that close to my power level unless your doing a 2.7...maybe I dunno. And converting to a 07?Are you prepared to switch your cars ENTIRE wire harness from tail light to headlight? That's what it's going to take.

^Never even thought of that but you're right, hpt only goes to 8,192 rpms. I was just looking at it from a stand point that if you have to rev that high for your powerband, it's not gonna work well for a dd

well i found that idea somewhere in the build book. didn't know about hpt. and I have all the ecm pinouts it's not that bad. about 6 wires change spots idk why people make it such a big deal. just have to do engine harness ecm and bcm. bcm pinouts change a hair. I have all that crap anyways. and as far as the other q I'm running a 2.8 60 lb'ers and I've also got a pretty nasty port job done on the head. The guy that did my port work does heads for subaru guys and mustang guys and they flow better then aftermarket cnc ported aluminums. By like 20hp so the guy knows his ****. He's not the cheapest but he is the best around here.
as far as bore none of that has changed. I deleted the balance shafts which is a huge help. And I'm working on getting a meth kit. I'm waiting for comp cams to reply about a custom made intake cam if not I'll just send it to get reground to go with the comp exhaust cam. Thanks for the hpt input though. That throws a wrench in things I'm looking to rev her to around 8k anyways. the 10k is like full race and f that

You've got quite a lot of work into it, why not go with a TVS and give it more potential?

That^^ and you know the entire harness is one peice right? We are not Hondas or any import for that matter that has a seperate engine harness etc etc.Just prepare for tons of issues with making your stock harness work properly and you may need access to a tech 2.

Yeah. The engine harness is one piece which I have. Ecm is right under hood connectors to bcm are the same just a few pins to change. I have access to Mitchell at work so I can get any diagram I need for pin outs and wiring. I'd go with tvs eventually they are starting to get kind of rare that I've seen so far. Again the wiring didn't change as much as people think between the 2 years. All the pins basically go to the same places. It will be a task none the less
