Has anyone done this mod on their big turbo compressor housing? Too ricey? Doesn't seems too difficult that I could do on my own?.

 

I looked at it before. My recollection is that it is 100% a sound thing... no performance advantage.

Everyone loves turbo spool sounds. If you've got the coin to spare, go for it.

 

No I am not paying $350 for it. After seeing vids of how it is done, I can make my own.

 

I never looked into how to do it on my own, but I'm sure it's not too bad. If that's the case... do it and report back. I'm curious.

 

Any update on this? I'd love to hear it on the cobalt

 

​​​​​​Finished it a few weeks back. I loved it. It is louder with some new distinctive sounds that I have never heard before except on a Garrett GT35R.. I am going to guess this is the sounds with the anti surge housing..
Because the diameter of a non AS housing is much smaller, I can only make a straight extension and that limited the intensity/pitch of the whistle sound. Regardless it is louder.
