turbo install question

Hey guys. I'm about to start my build and have just a few last minute questions.

Where do you tap in for the oil feed line?
Does it matter which coolant opening is feed and return?
Is 10 psi too much for stock internals on a 2.2l?
The Turbo is internally wastegated so can I stilli use a BOV?

you can tap the oil filter housing for oil feed like i did or do what many here have done and use the plug at the back of the head.

yes. coolant feed matters. find out which is the feed pipe and tap into them accordingly

10 psi is the average boost range on stock internals but your tune will make or break you

bov has nothing to do with a wastegate. a bov or recirculating valve is needed.

Which turbocharger are you planning on using?

Its not always necessary that you have to run the coolant side of a turbocharger. You can just do the oil.

The pressure used has nothing to do with limitations of an engine. Pressure from one turbocharger could result in a different amount of power and strain on an engine than another one.

No offense but by some of the questions you are asking, I highly suggest you read my ECOTEC Turbo FAQ: The Ultimate ECOTEC Related Turbo FAQ! (Updated 4/4/2009))

If you need any help, feel free to PM me.

Yeah like I stated, you don't have to have it water cooled as well...also thats a small turbo so 10 PSI will not be a big deal power wise. It probably won't net you that much gain like you're probably thinking. It really just depends on a bunch of different factors.

Also try and get one that is specifically branded with a company name...like "Garrett" or "Turbonetics" or "Mitsubishi".
