I hope the make the handling better for 08 and get rid of the body lean. I dont know if I should wait for the 08 or not. Is a six speed coming along with all these changes? I dont want a turbo because I like supercharger whine and a flat torque curve. Its also easy to stick on a smaller belt too.
EDIT: I meant body roll...is there a difference?

Humh???

My car is flat as a board in a corner. Handling is better than anything I have driven minus a 2004 Z06! The handling on the SS/SC is go-cart like to say the least!

Are we driving the same car or have you not even driven one????

If it was not you, why did you post it anyway?

You can't be completely serious on that part.

Well I personally hope they DON'T put a 6 speed on the cobalt. In order to do it they'd have to make the gears physically smaller. That means weaker gears. Hell IMO letem put a 4 spee din it a'la the muncie in the 60's Hehe. >> If the whine from the blower wasn't bad enough lets have some straight cut gears.

So more gears just gives you better mileage? And how much of a difference do weaker gears make?

I dont care. I plan on putting a double Din DVD pioneer with 30Gig hard drive. I love the gun metal wheels. dont know what other changes are appealing. I guess steering wheel is nice but not enough to justify selling the SS. I would rather sell to get LSD.

Interesting that the pontiac arrowhead gives you 3 HP! Thats B.S. They used to do that with the Grand Am GT. 175 HP from Ram-Air compared to 170 HP in the Alero. Only problem was the GT was heavier because of all the plastic **** on the car neglecting the gain. I'm betting the G5 will be heavier than the 'Balt.
3 HP? I'll bet there is actually NO power increase. Even modern dynos don't have the resolution to measure that accurately from one car to the other. All they would have to say is "yeah, it makes more power but we just didn't see it this time due to weather or dyno differences etc etc..."

S.O.

new s.a.e. engine dyno's are actually quite accurate these days, and thanks to new s.a.e. standards car company's can no longer get away with overrating there hp numbers. it may be possible that with the new standards the engine was producing more hp than advertised (nothing new for gm) so they bumped the printed hp number up a little.

i've been to the dealer already for my radio displaying lock. They said they upgraded the software and should work fine. My radio still continues to display the lock feature. Do you think if I go to the dealer again they will order me the upgraded radio. Do you think I will receive the radio from the 07 model?

No , the new head unit will not work in 05-06's . 05-06 is a Delphi , and the 07 is Fujitsu with different connectors .

Hey guys check it out.. I test drive chevys for a living. The new '07's just came in last night. I took a pic with my phone of one of the new colors, the tinted red. This model is a SS/NA I still have yet to see a '07 SS/SC but pics will come if they come in soon. In my personal opinion.. all you '05 and '06 owners.. be happy you bought when you did..and all you new 'balt owners of the '06 have no regrets! Oh and one thing for the SS/SC.. the polished 18" rims ARE and option on 06 cobalts...one of my close buddys has them on his yellow SS/SC that he just purchased, i know this for sure cause i have driven about 3 of them. Pretty few and far between but i know there out there on the 06's.

Tinted red SS/NA

This is the part i envy the most.. the radio with the female connector for things like my ipod.

And this is the steering wheel .. there are a few variations between models.. just like the 05s and 06s as in radio controls, cruise control, etc. I particularly dont like it.. it has a more "square" feeling to it. i prefer my steering wheel.. lets just say im glad i bought my SS/NA when i did hehe.

For the most part as you can see.. its the same car.. ive driven about 6 of them so far this week. I notice no difference what so ever in the base model, LS, and SS/NA models from 06 to 07. Its mostly the appearance changes.. nothing dramatic.

Yeah I went to my dealer today and sat in some of the 07's. I love that radio. Not too sure on the wheel yet. I am waiting to see a pace blue in person.

If you want to see the new colors, steering wheel and radio go to www.pontiac.com and look at the G5 it has all the new additions for its US release in the fall.
