OK, some things I noticed in the commercial....... NO HEATED SEATS , the car really needs side skirts on it, it does not have Riccardo seats in it, it has the silver guages as originally shown, and the boost guage seems really low on the pillar.

yeah, i saw the emblems right off the bat...good move if they decided to put them back, which i hope they did...i also noticed the antenna...they either unscrewed it and took it off, or its a power antenna (which i really hope it isn't as they are pieces of crap.)...i just dont know why they couldnt do like everybody else is doing, and integrate it into the rear glass...

The guy at the end holding the groceries and behind the fence with his hand on it reminds me of all of us trying to get our cobalts and seeing them everywhere, lol

Man that blue looks great! The interior dash looks great too, I really hope they keep the all silver radio/HVAC controls instead of the mix of black and silver...but, yeah, wow! This car cannot come soon enough.
I'm really interested in seeing the Silver SS though, typically I'm not a fan of the lighter Silver colors that GM has but I think on the SS it will look nice.

p.s. - even the alarm beep rocks!
dcshoes thanks a lot man for getting these vids up!

Thanks for the vid. GM is gonna have people going after these like crazy people by the time their available. And I'll be speaking from experience if I don't get the build number for mine soon. DAMN, THAT'S A NICE CAR. Makes my '03 Z24 look like a Pinto inside and out.
P.S. PULLING MY HAIR OUT OVER THIS

Another 30 year old here, I think he even looked older than that.
Looks like the gray hair is coming in..... Or I just look really young for 30
And that's my damn car he's driving!!!!!!!!
Now that I jsut watched it again, I guess it's just the overall gloomy look of the commercial, overcast etc......... I guess he doesn't look that old.......then again 30 isn't very old anyway.
In a way I think the car has to fill a temporary void to the segment of GM buyers that really want something to replace the void left by the camaro, and the Impala and Monte SS's just don't do it for me. Too big, too slow, to ugly. I'd never even think about buying anything less than the SS SC model. I wanted to stick with an american company and I wanted a performance coupe for less than $23,000. There just aren't too many choices out there right now, foreign or domestic. The cobalt seems to be a perfect fit.
I wanted something that would be better than my Alero in both performance and how it comes equipped. I'm getting a slightly smaller car, with more HP than my V6, a manual tranny, and it's almost fully loaded, for a tad bit more than my alero stickered for 6 years ago. The mustang was an option but once you load it up with all the options to get it to the rim level of the Cobalt (leather, stereo, etc.) It's just too much money, and I need something that I'll be more comfortable driving in the winter. If they made a Subaru WRX in an AWD coupe configuration I'd probably own one of those right now.....

You can tell by the demographics on this site that not everyone is 16-19...I'm 21 and I know most of us are either in college or recent grads, so I'm not surprised.
I remember ads for the SVT focus and they also basically featured a guy in his mid 20's.
Personally, I'd prefer to not have a bunch of 17 year olds driving the same car I'll have. No offense to 17 year old members on this site ofcouse.

That commercial definetly shows someone of older stature, so I think its good that is targeted in that way. The SS anyway is in the same price range of the RSX-S (roughly) so its targeted more towards people who can afford 21,000+ cars than those of a younger market base.

I just turned 32...... I think the cobalt SS will appeal to a slitly older croud that has some experience with compact sport cars..... Us old folks know a good car when we see one (that is from experience)

I'm trying to figure out what the white "bland" cars are in the commercial. Are they fake cars built for the commercial?
Also, has anyone seen the other Cobalt commercial airing in Canada? It's for the Cobalt Sedan. Basically, it takes place in suburbia where everyone is ignoring their bland, white sedans. One guy comes out (it's his turn to drive the carpool) in his black LT sedan and is swarmed by a huge mob of neighbours like a scene out of Dawn of the Dead. He says, "I can only take four of you!" and a riot breaks out as to who the lucky few will be. They drive off leaving everyone else sad and disappointed.

as for target demograhpic; it's a yuppy car. Mid 20's seems right. Just when professionals start making money, need a car, but don't yet have kids.
