I'm only 19 but i'm planning my college graduation around buying a beautiful kick-ass camero. If GM ***** this up and doesn't make performance cars they won't have much of a customer base. I'll still drive a plain cobalt over ANY foreign four cylinder, but GM won't have anything to boast about except 'the good ol days'

this is good news for me, makes me want to buy a cobalt ss/tc more now knowing that there wont be a "cruze ss" anytime soon

bad news though, but gm's fucked big time, they need to restructure everything because the government wont lend them money otherwise

GM will pull through i have faith.

LOL and to the kid saying he might switch to vw/audi
they have the worst maintance problems and they cost the most to repair.

Think of anything you spent in maintance/fixing your balt.... multiply that by 4 and thats what you got for a V DUBBBB

Just make sure you get a camaro and not the bootleg camero.

It's likely GM will still put out some sporty cars, they just won't be the full out SS and V series vehicles that have all the good Nurburgring tuned suspension and superchargers strapped to four, six, and eight cylinder banks anymore. Just think the good old Z24 and Sport models...

so 09 CSS's will live through the entire production... no model change is slated and as of a few days ago the 2010 SS was slated... anyone think they won't make a 2010 SS?

we think GM's hurting now if they dont come out with the camaro, they just dug their own grave then, just think of all the people that pre-ordered the camaro since oct 13 2008, if they dont make it they have to pay everyone back what ever they put down. pre-order is refundable,

No "SS" Camaro, no SS anything period... Base camaro and 5.7 365 hp RS are safe... That info from a friend deep inside GM in Dearborn.. I've had my share of vettes, new gtos' and such not to mention my Dad worked for GM for over 35 years .. I know who to talk to in the high brass to get the truth from.....

The ZR1 will be gone by July and the G8 GXP that pontiac just released is on a Extreme limited production run and will be dropped by August 09'...

Start by FIRING the President Jim Wagoner....... Keep his bonuses from the last 5 years too......

What are you talking about? The Camaro is still a go, 300 Hp V6, AND the 422 Hp (400 in the auto) V8 SS. For this model only, next time the model changes, there won't be an SS...
And the RS is just an appearance package, Halo HID healights, body colour roof ditch molding, and dark tinted taillights. So i don't know where you've been getting your info from...
This is based on Fbodfather's reports over at Camaro5.com, a lead team member on the Camaro launch. And a few Oshawa plant insiders.
Not to mention, the plant is less then 25 days from starting production, and it would cost WAY more money to cancel the SS now, then it would to run with it and kill it at the MY change. And ALL the people that preordered would want to sue, and lop off heads, and riot...
