I've had my car about 4-5 months now, just a 2.4, but I was averaging 32 highway when I got it, it started throwing the fuel trim cylinder balance code, but my mileage didn't suffer so I wasn't too worried about it, I bought a cheap chip offline that claimed to add a couple mpgs and couple HP, installed it and my gas mileage tanked, down to 24 highway, took the chip off, and it's back up to 28-29, am I missing something? I've been told to take it to the dealer to have it reprogrammed but I know that's expensive as hell, any ideas?

Seems to be an injector issue. Remove and clean or just replace the set. I'm selling a good used set of 2.4L injectors that have very low mileage, you could easily get a set like that and pop them in as a simple fix.
