Cool. I kind of wanted to wait for a 2006 model, but this may be a good reason to go and order one soon.

NOOOOOOOOO!

I just signed the papers on one Sunday!

Edit: Actually, I signed the last couple of pieces of paper yesterday for the financing. Called the dealership just now to try something, anything, if I could to get the $1000. They flat turned me down like I pretty much expected. "Sorry, it just came out today, I don't have a crystal ball, nothing we can do." His exact words. How's that for "customer care" ?

That wouldn't be as hard to swallow if they hadn't of argued with me for nearly 3 hours on Sunday trying to get me to pay $29k for one with the only option on it being a sunroof. A guy that claimed to be a Chevy rep, not part of the dealership insisted the car was $24k msrp, before the $5k market value "adjustment". I left with the car for $24k in the end, knowing it should of been around $22k.

I feel so dirty right now...

I think it's based on delivery date.

Well I missed out on the 1000 dollar bonus cash, but I got the free sunroof/xm which is about 1000 bux too.

You should always search other dealers. Not all of them do dealer addendums in Market Value Adjustment. But there's no crime in saying "Hey pay this much" if the customer agrees, then what? Thats the dealers job. SELL the CAR. Not the price. Ever wonder why a Ford GT40 sells for 20-50k and up, OVER sticker? An old saying from the car business: There's an ass for every seat.

Anyone know if there's anything like this in Canada? Couldn't find any info on the gmcanada website. And I don't trust a dealer to tell me.

Neither could I. Looks like a US-only promotion for now. I read a recent article that GM Canada's sales were quite good so far this year so I guess head office feels that such an incentive isn't necessary up here.

Shitty. They'll probably announce some sort of discount around here the day after I order mine. The universe usually works against me like that.

It was an absolute surprise to find one sitting at this dealer. After seeing it there I checked on chevy.com and found it was listed as being at that dealer as well as one more down in Miami, none others listed in the entire state of Florida. A couple of phone calls to other dealers who looked it up also confirmed it. I know some people will pay $29k for it, I'm not one of them. However, I'm not a patient person and know that it would be a very long wait if I ordered one and wasn't sure if I'd happen upon one at a dealership like this any time soon again. So although I despise the thought of paying over msrp, I decided it was worth $24k to me and was convinced that was the absolute lowest they would go. It was just that coming up with the $3k down payment at this time was a trick in itself, and to find out about the incentive beginning only a dozen or so hours after I finalized the deal sent me flying off the handle after the whole experience. I just had a small hope that since the $1000 cash back is coming from Chevy and not the dealer (or how I believe it to be, anyways), that maybe they would pull some strings and still get it for me. The smart-ass comment the salesman gave me instead was a little un-professional and obviously I will be taking it to a different dealer should it require service. No big deal in the end, I guess. Just irritating how it worked out.

The real surpise was that adding the Cobalt to my insurance policy along with my Grand Prix gave me the multi-car discount, and actually gave me an overall lower combined rate than the Grand Prix by itself. $987/6 months for both vs $1008/6 months for the Grand Prix. They went by the VIN # and know it is supercharged, so they didn't assume it was a base model, either. Go figure.
