I bet !! All I'm doing for the cobalt here is putting the ZZP PCM in the car tuned for the stage 2.

Well, the past few days I have been working on cleaning everything up a bit better, painting a few more things, and doing the timing. Ran into a bit of an issue with that pesky timing chain guide bolt that has the T55 access hole. Taking apart the running motor to replace the timing components realized it was actually broken just slopping around up there.

Tried using an EZ out with no luck. We decided to just drill it out and somehow we had broken a good amount of the threads free, so a new bolt threaded in nicely. Everything is now timed and balanced.

Pictures soon

Progress

Here is some of the progress photos. It's coming along well ! We now have the transmission and the engine mounted fully, axles in, and the exhaust hooked up. Just need to wire everything together, hook and replace some hoses, and add fluids. Also waiting on ZZP to get me the valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket, supercharger gasket, spark plugs, and throttle body gasket.

Side note*** this guy had the original spark plugs in for 180k miles !! lmfao. They didnt even look too terrible either. Blows my mind.

I have been pretty busy ! lmao. My backyard is a mess as well. It is by no means an organized or a clean build by any means. Its hard to organize everything when all you have available is a **** ton of tools on your porch along with 2 engines, parts for both of them, and spare bolts for a 3rd cobalt.

Most of my time is spent trying to find a socket, ratchet, the correct bolt, or part than i have actually putting things together.

Ended up not being bad at all actually ! We had it dropped in and lined up with the trans in about a half hour than about another hour to get the rest of the trans mounts lined up and in, along with the engine mount.

She's Alive !!

Well, after all the hard work... We got her running. Still needs a battery, a few vacuum hoses, and i need to contact ZZP about there 1.0 Tuned ECU. The guy who bought it 2 years ago that bought the stage 2 also got the ECU, but it immediately said engine power reduced and wouldn't start the car. That is why he used the stock ECU on the stage 2 and blew it up.

Anyone have ideas why the zzp tune would say that brand new ? At this point however the ECU is 2 years old from the purchase date but still did the same thing when plugged in. Like it was unlocked or something.

So it will start up on the stock ECU but not the ZZP ECU?

Yes Sir. Car does not like the ZZP 1.0 Tune. Starts on stock tune and runs awesome. Obviously don't want to drive it and put a bunch of strain on it because its not tuned for the 3.0 pulley, 42# injectors and what not.

I would think there is definitely something wrong with that ZZP ECU then.

I agree, Even when the kid bought it new, he said it told him that. So instead of waiting patiently for ZZP to get the issue resolved. Ran the stock ECU. Still waiting on a response from ZZP. Hoping I dont need to buy a new one. Not like i am into this car very much but still. lol.

Update 9/4/17

Well the build is finally doing good and driveable. Was fighting a really shitty idle for about a week not being able to figure out the problem. Turns out 2 of the hoses I used for the vacuum lines were too small. Swapped them for a larger diameter and the idle issues went away. I tried swapping just about everything else first though ! Lol

some things it needs however
-rotors and pads
-front axels
-clutch bled out some more as it's kinda spongy sometimes

Also got a zzp intake for her along with a tuned ECU since the other one turned out being junk. Supercharger is LOUD ! Lol
