06 LSJ totaled by hail =/ (let her go or no?)
Well, it was a good run but i think it's time to turn in the chips while the getting is good. We had a hailstorm and the insurance company totaled my cobalt ss/sc. It has 121k miles on it and they are offering $6,247 after deductible. I should take the money and run right? I do have some aftermarket but nothing crazy and we just moved so I would need to buy replacements to remove the aftermarket stuff which really hurts the profit margin on selling parts off. For example, YYZ springs and HE5 shocks i think cost me around 600 bucks but its going to cost almost 300 to replace with crappy a**ozone stuff so it seems like I might break even if lucky. Then add time and labor. Meh..
Has anyone dealt with this? I read that If I keep it they will only take what the junkyard "would" have payed them and still pay me the rest? Id probly be sitting at $4500 or so after all was said and done because I also had car replacement assistance, which I dont think they would still pay...
Anyways... Anyone have any reason I shouldn't let her go? Just running this through other minds to make sure I'm still in mine...

Depending on damage and what the salvage yard would sell the car back to you for it could be worth taking the money and either not fixing the car or buying it back from salvage yard. If hail damage is only cosmetic and repurchase price is low it would make a good beater or daily.
