07 Cobalt ss/sc vs 05-06 cobalt ss/sc

Hey guys I have an 07 cobat ss/sc with about 1k miles on it already

but my question is - Are there any changes in the 07 model opposed to the 05-06's ? For example when shopping for parts i always run into places that say 05-06 nothing for 07's kinda makes me wonder if there are any differences under the hood or elsewhere?
Anyone kno about this? Mabey a few minor things here and there i dunno

Thanks

As far as replacement parts go, I don't think anything is different other then slight visual touches, such as the removal of the amber reflectors in the turn signals, the Black-Tie radios, the three spoke steering wheels, I believe the wheels are a bit different also.

well the 07's dont have the high mount spoiler..it has the lower one on a regular SS and ur rims looks just like da regular SS as well...its a nice car anyways congrats on a new SS/SC

I have a 2007 SS 2.4L w/ exhaust system, cold air intake, and just put on the SS/SC high mount spoiler

07s have the high mount spoiler, low mount is an option. Same with wheels, you can get gunmetal or polished.

Steering wheel is different, radio is different. Two buttons on the dash for the DIC were moved to the steering wheel.

Those are really the only major differences.

The 07' comes standard with the high-mount spoiler........the low version is a no-cost option. As far as wheels go, if you choose the polished option, you get polished 05/06 wheels (until they run out of them I guess) otherwise you get the new style (Monte Carlo SS wheels).

i asked if we could switch out our SS steering wheels with the 3 spoke and the dealership said that it wasnt compatible. when i asked why, they replied that the air bag something or nother was different from the 4 spoke and that was the reason why we cant have them. me thought bullshit to myself...

The three spoked steering wheel is awesome, my 07 24 ss has it. I honeslty can't think of any reason WHY they wouldn't be interchangeable, if the airbag connector is the same, what's the diff? You could always install one anyhow and say f*ck the airbag I guess..

I think all new cobalts have the three spoked wheel, but the SS's (and maybe the higher LTs) have silver trim, leather wrap and of course all the buttons... super convenient on those, audio is on the right, cruise and DIC on the left (unlike my fiancee's 06 malibu lt v6 where it's all mixed together, hate it..).

Do any other trims have the white-guages the 2.4 ss's have?

I can only say that the 07' SS/SC has Titanium guages (bullshit fancy for grey'ish). Perhaps they offer a different "HUE" at night.........I dunno know

yeah thats the inside of her

so far ive got 30% tint on side windows , which i think is the legal limit in NY - figured it was enough with a dark interior . 20 % on the back window and 2 rear windows and a 20% strip on the top of the windshield that really looks nice.

working on a CAI soon!! hopefully. think im gonna go AEM seems solid.

also!! i thought it would come with a high mount spoiler but.. when i went to pick it up over a week later ( dealer had trouble finding a blue one in my area) it had that spoiler which im startin to like- also when i ordered it i was curious as to what rims but yeah it came with the polished!!!

I love it so far

the SS/SC is underrated, most come with more than 210 whp.

Mine came with the low spoiler option and personally I prefer this one a lot more than the import-inspired high mount. I think it looks sportier if a far more subtle way and also has much better visibility, from what I've read, than the high mount.

Guess I got lucky in that regard, I bought my SS/SC used with about 3500 mi on it. I've got it in mid 5 range now and I've had it since 8/31. I believe it was bought in June of 07, but I could have heard the salemen wrong... I wasnt sure if he meant June 06 b/c he was telling me how it was barely driven after it was bought by the original owner (hence my suspicion it may have been bought a year prior). Anyone know when the 07's became available?

Apperently the guy that bought it first, bought it for his son along with an Extreme model Colorado. Yeah spoiled brat all the way. According to my salesmen the kid through a TC on the Colorado and the SS/SC basically became the father's car which he drove occaisonally.

I feel I lucked out on the situation I walked into with my car. As I've said in my intro forum thread, I had no intention of buying an SS/SC until the night before I drove to the dealership after seeing it on the website. Heck I barely knew anything about the car until coming here.

I just lucked out and got an amazing deal on a very fun little sports car. Nice for putting in almost no research or legwork into the buying or search process.

-Aswell as heated seats, different tune on the engine, low-wing option (as mentioned) and the wheels are 06' style if polished, 07' Monte Carlo SSish wheels standard.
