ok so i was looking around at buying a 08 Sport Coupe and i found these two cars

but one thing that confuses me is that they are the SAME exact car, but one says LT on back and one says Sport?

I didnt know the 08 LT came with the "SS/NA" body kit, i thought it was just the sport...

 

i think it's just a mistake

i found a toyota avalon that was listed as a dodge challenger yesterday

notice it has the sport badge on the back

 

no... but look at the pictures

the silver one has an LT badge while the SRTC one has the Sport badge

but didnt know that the LT came with the old SS/NA bumpers

 

That is kinda odd, I didn't think the "sport appearance package" was available until the 09 model year, after the Cobalt "Sport" was dropped.

You never can tell WTF sort of options GM has.

 

well mabe the silver one is an 09?..well no then it would have the USB radio...

 

for 09, the sport appearance package makes the 2LT trim look like a ss/na or sport. I assume this new package came into affect half way through 2008 so thats why one was a sport and an LT. Also the new ss/na look alike only has a 2.2 like a regular lt from my understanding.

i saw a cobalt LTS the other day

screamed rice-o-rama like none other

 

None of these cars will have the ss trim, the ss trim is specifically designed for the ss only. the side skirts are the same but the front and rear fascias are a sportier lower design.

My guess is whoever go lt ordered the sport kit and installed it on. But the 2 are not the same from the factory.

 

2009 2LT with Sport appearance looks just like an SS/NA / Sport. This lookalike package was not available for 08's. Therefore I dunno what the hell this is.

That's the only possibility here, really. Or a 5 lug LT with a clean application of the SS kit without rice badges? I don't believe it.

 

Yes the LT has a sport package on it. Just different engine. That's it.

 

i highly doubt the bodykit was put on by a previous owner

 

My new guess both cars in the OP are '08 Sports with the 2.4, but the silver one has a repainted trunk or something, and for whatever reason was rebadged LT.

I'm pretty sure thats not the case... the sport model got dropped for 09, and i am assuming the last half of 08 as well so the LT that looks like a sport is just that, the 2LT with the "sport appearance package" or whatever it is called. If you dont believe me, look it up.

 

They know that ...... thats why they are saying SS/NA bodykit. The older SS/non supercharged had this kit...... same on the side's but different rear bumper and no front bumper extension.

They are both "SPORT'S and both ALAMO rental cars.

not all 09's have the usb radio

 

The dealer here was trying to get rid of their Sports up until August, I'm 100% sure they went the whole model year.

I win.

 

The sport has the le5, SS suspension, and the chrome 17's...Identical look and performance to the SS N/A. The lt just has the faschias...that's it. Mechanically, it's a cobalt ls/t.

 

Did I read right one of the cars had couple problems with it coolant and some other stuff lol

Sports are dropped

the NEW LTs come with the new 2.2L engine with VVT pushing 154 out the door. Comes with the "Sport" body kit which is just the apperence package for the LT or some might say the old LTZ. The 2.4L engine was dropped.
