155mph

So I am driving home last night, im on the 91fwy at 12am. It was clear, virturally no one was on the road. Ive gotten my car up to 140mph once, so I was like "Lets see how fast i can get it" So I hit about a 2 mile straight away and gun it from 80 mph, it was about 54 degrees outside, so I knew my SC would proform well under those conditions. Next thing you know I look down at the speedometer and im going 155pm, holy **** that was fast and fun, haha. I was pushing about 13.5lbs of boost. I have nothing done to my car, that was one hell of a drive home.

The one thing I miss about Cali is how fast you can go and get away with it. I want to take my SS S/C out there just to see where I top out at.

Nice speed! I have only gone 124

How did the 2.2L feel with intake and exhaust? (Off topic, I know)

The 2.2 was a total of 10hp difference dynoed, it was a decent increase in power, but at those high rpms, that thing screamed, you could here me from a mile away. It didnt sound ricy either, it was a nice deep rumble, and surprisingly, at cruising speed it was quite as hell.

I just went on Amboy road towards Vegas and there's plenty of straight stretches and open roads with no cops. I was in the desert, in the Yucca Valley area. 85 was the speed I used to get to the grocery store. I never got pulled. Where as in NC if I went 85 it wouldn't be too long before I got pulled.

nice man, **** there is way to many hills where iam from to hit 155 with a stock SS/SC. I however with my GMPP S2 hit the speed limiter of 158mph once. I thought this thing didnt have a speed govenor.. Anyways at that speed, you are going some fast!

It doesn't have a speed governor per say, it has a fuel cut at 158, that is what you hit.

The only thing bad about california is that you hit traffic everywhere you go...

Look into the Mohave Desert. There wasn't much when I was there. At least not on Amboy Road. Just don't do it in the summer, it gets hot.

What do you think a governor is? Most companies these days are using a ECU controlled fuel cut as the governor. Actually havent heard of one that wasnt.

you can take it off, just use hp tuners, but if you do, you will void warranty

IVe got an ss/sc and some guy at work seen me pull up in it... so he starts talking to me and says he read a magazine article or watched a tv show.... about the ss/sc.... stating they took off whatever it was that restricted the speed and took it out to the salt flats or something and drove it until it stopped gaining speed and he says he thinks it said it stopped gaining speed in the 180s? Ive got no idea if its true... it seemed kinda far fetched, but thats the "hear-say" of the week from me

That is some impressive speed. That ticket would suck though if you got pulled over.
