2.4 cobalt
Hey Im bored and i was think when ill get my cobalt ss 2.4Lthis summer they comes stock at 171hp
lets say i change intake downpipe cat back header and maybe cams would i be hitting the 230hp ?
just a guess cause i want to get the most out of it n/a and im not planning of putting 10k in it there reasable daily driver with some nice feedback
no SC no TC n/a FTW
tell me what you guys think

not even close buddy. 171 is at the crank, not wheel, understand that. the only way i know of to reach 230 hp on a 2.4 is to turbo it, but i know you dont want to go f/i. i dont really know much about building the motor, but still, 230 is a stretch

when they say 171 its a the wheel well im a noob haha well from 171 with intake dp headers and maybe cams with a tune what you think i would be at

wherever that quote went from acey, dude where are you getting your facts from, the ss/sc comes stock with 205 to the CRANK, where the hell did you get 230 stock wheel? anyway that is irrelevant, good luck finding your answer, im not sure. just go turbo

From people on this forum who have dynoed their SS/SC's at 210-220 whp STOCK. And yeah my post didn't make much sense I meant that SS/SC + stg2 would put you over 230... but I think I said "nearly" 230 stock, didn't I?

Well ill get the car i was think getting the konig strut with eibach sportlines then maybe find a nice carbon fiber hood i said maybe lol get somme 17 with low profile then get full bolts on. Im so bored i cant wait to have it and start but **** on cause it gonna be my first car tuning so thats why i dont wanna go big with the IF right now.
first car i had was a suzuki sidekick lol i was doing 136km/h maxium
so i got a 2.2 cavalier... i hate it
so im selling the cav and getting a cobalt

Also if your Cav is an Ecotec you could S/C that and save a lot of money and make decent numbers... I would do the same but I don't really trust my LD9 to not blow up.

Two things: stop lol'ing, and 2.4's come stock with 17's so blah unless you don't like the stockers I wouldn't buy another set of 17"

The thing that is pissing me off the most is i look at my friends and they all have they nice cars... and im stuck with a piece of **** and i was think of getting a cobalt 2.4 maybe i could keep up with them more then the cav thats for sure
by the way they have
99 eclipse gst 14b turbo i wont be close to that i know
other friend has a 2002 si civic hatch
has rsx types
nother has a civic with b20vtec supercharge
intregra b18 turboed
eagle talon awd t25
3000gt non turbo
infinity g35
thats the cars i see at school everyday =( i want to have a nice car to but i dont think a cobalt 2.4 can keep up with any of does cars right?

hehe yeah some guy at my school has the z24 and his like a some headers on it who wants ro race for 200$ im like in my head wow that really bad he thinks his all that with is header. think he can beat that civic supercharge. it funny cause everybody laugh at him

I don't like Civics nor RSX's so I wouldn't consider that stuff special. And yeah not many high school kids drive Infiniti G35's. That's more of a muture car if ya know what I mean.
That Z24 guy is worthless.... picking a race with a 100 whp guy. I actually don't mind my motor though... and the 95-99 Z24's aren't bad looking cars IMO. Satisfactory till I can get into a Balt.

yeah i know what you mean but mommy and daddy bought that car for the kid it was that or a 350z like wtf who has that for there first car
You should see at my school there honda is like a ferrarie for them if it has a k20 or h22 or a b16 b18 whatever it is there freak out then there like v-tec this v-tec that... its horrible

you can to get those number at the wheels you will need a lot of work a short off the top of head list is as follows
JBP Stage 2 heads
JBP Cams
SLP header/downpipe combo
SLP cat back
K&N short ram
RK sport ram air hood
HPTuner ecu tune (best option) or vector custom or Jet stage 2 "canned" tune if you get the Jet ecu module then get there MAF sensor as well
and then maybe you could come close to make those numbers. maybe crank hp easy with that but wheel hp is a maybe. this is along the lines of what i am planning on doing in the next couple years as money allows
