200 bet, wish me luck!
So a friend of mine down here in cinci (bradsi on these forums) is betting me 200 dollars that i can't go through the whole winter season with the stock pirelli on my 07 cobalt ss/sc, so we are about to find out! The bet is i can't get into a wreck caused by me, or get stuck somewhere and have to get towed out. Anyone think i can make it?? Thanks for all the good lucks to come!!!!!

if a kid runs out in front of your car, regardless of road conditions, theres still a chance your still gonna run the ****** over... Besides the people here doing all this street racing make our streets a hell of alot more dangerous than someone not using winter tires... Take a deep breath man,,
the point is, if its an accident, and they saw your tire marks where you slammed brakes as hard as you could, and were paying attention....its gonna be ALOT different story, to if you hit him in the winter, with your stock SUMMER ONLY tires on...because all you did is slide
and second....
just because people are stupid enough to street race, does not justify your stupidity in ignoring the fact that your tires are unsafe during winter.
if you bought this car and didnt take notice that the tires are summer only, and you live in a winter climate.....thats your own fault.
if you dont have the money to buy the correct safe tires for your car, you should have bought a cheaper car.
cars arent just about the note to the finance company.
To me this is no better than someone saying "oh i only have 1 brake rotor working, but if im a really good driver, ill be ok"
I drove through winter last year with a set of completely wasted Falken Ziex tires.
You just gotta know how to drive, it's not so difficult.
Spend a couple weeks up in rural NY, and learn how to drive a car in the snow.
A typical day will leave enough snow so that I'm literally plowing the road with my front bumper, not the greatest sensation, but, hey, what the **** are ya gonna do?

you should take your preaching to the street racing threads. We get the point that you are against the idea haha? Theres gonna be thousands of people driving around in the winter without any tread on there tires, so i dont think me not having winter tires is that big of an issue compared to what else is out there on the streets. Again, deep breath mate
whts more important, your Car and possibly your safety or 200$. but with that being said i would prob put my money on u to win this bet, Im from canada BTW so dont think tht becuase im from florida i dont kno about winter driving LOL. ya and forgett about tht driveway for the wnter. Ice and that driveway looks like a bad combo.
As other have said. stupid ******* idea. You are going to kill someone or get killed. I was stuck on stock tires all last winter and it sucked. Your only advantage is being in ohio rather than all these hills here. It isn't worth $200. I got stuck on a hill at 40 and had to hit 60 on the snow just to get up. I barely had control. I was fish tailing at every light. I was sliding backward down hills. Skill only saves your ass from death when those things happen. It sure as hell isn't going to keep it from losing control and likely hurting others.

I did fine last winter here in PA. But I only drove it twice in the snow. Once because my beater took a ****. Twice would be the time when my friend ran out of gas with his snow mobile. Damn, and I had to help him I'm his best friend. Happen to happen same time my beater took a crap
Good luck! This year she goes in the garage for winter
