So basicly the last six of the vin tells you the what # yours was at the assembly line

I always thought it was the last 4 numbers.

I was told by a sales manager at a Chevy dealership that 5,000 2005 ss/sc models were produced. I don't know where he got that # & I also don't beleive a word those guys say.
Production was definately limited, we can all agree on that.

FL@SH = Sales Manager at a Chevy Dealership.
I don't know how many was made. Thats why I posted that I thought that it was the last 4.
Last time I checked was when I bought a 79 Camaro. Not in 79 like in 98

I will talk to my gm rep tho and see what he can dig up.

You know i got to thinking these numbers might be all Cobalts be cause the is part of the vin that has the model that it is. That would make a lot of sense to the big #'s

The first one I test drove was that color I did not want to buy it though cause it was the only one in the city and everyone and there brother beat on it within a 2 week period it was at the dealership.

The last SIX numbers in the vin are the sequential production number. That would be for all trim levels, base to SS/SC. That does not mean that the made 5 or 600,000 Cobalts though as they did not necessarily start at 000001. I remeber reading something somewhere that the total for all Cobalts in '05 was around 70,000. The last six does not have to be all numbers either as alot of Fords the last six start with an A. Take all this to mean what you want, but they sure as hell did not build 600,000 Cobalts in '05 and I doubt they will in any other year, that would make it the top selling car as the number one seller now is only around 400,000.

I ordered mine through the Overseas Miltary sales and got the G85 package. Where are you stationed?? I got the 3,000 incentive thrue them and the g85 package with sunroof and it came to 19G. I'm over here in Okinawa Japan. With Delivering in July in my hometown it was only 19,000

That is not true they can order the G85 package, I was going to order mine but it was already in the system when I went to go order it
