the 2.4 ss will go from 171 hp to 173 hp and stay at 163 tourqe

are these specs accurate or are they off or dose anybody know

 

i know they wont make a huge diferece or anything but dose anybody know or can confirm this

 

I doubt its really any change at all. GM probably just refined the list numbers to be a little more accurate to production cars.

 

It make sense, as that's what the upcoming Pontiacs are rated at.

 

if the torque curve doesn't change... neither does horsepower. hell you can gain or lose 2hp depending on time of day. I doubt much changed except maybe some ECU programs

 

thats also a peak tq rpm drop from 5000 rpm to 4800

 

does anybody know if they are going to have Aux ports for the stock systesm for such things as ipods?

I know the G5 will...so perhaps on the Cobalt as well? Dunno for sure though.

I believe so since I thought they were trying to put the new "corporate radio" in just about everything.

 

The SS/SC will have this as a standard option.

I would imagine that there is nothing mechanically different. They have likely just been re-rated because they were incorrect last year. GM has done this before. The first year the Trailblazer was out it was rated at 270 HP. The next year it was 275 HP. GM said there were no changes made to the engine or drivetrain, they simply made a mistake and underrated the engine.

well they should update the mpg from 34 on highway to about 40 because thats what im getting
