have a 2007 we are building as we speak for a dirt car, and just picked up a 2010 to do the same. are there any major differences? will most everything interchange? just wondering, and hoping that when we start to cache parts, and take them to the track, our parts will work for either car. both are 2.2. both coupe. and both 5 speed. anything we need to be aware of?

 

They have different heads but thats pretty much it, everything else is the same

 

good deal... that will certainly help, as we can share parts if need be. especially be nice 6+ hours away from home racing, and possibly be able to bring one set of extra parts

 

Make sure they use the same brakes too, if that matters. Base models sometimes have fe5 brakes, some are 5 lug and some are 4. If they are both true base models they should be four lug with rear drums.

 

mine is def base model, 4 lug. he's gonna pick up the 2010 hopefully today and ill know more. even then, thats not that big of deal if his is the 5 lug. I've already put fe5 suspension on mine. i guess time will tell, will be nice to know we can swap most all out though

 

2009-20010 have the LAP 2.2l, 2007 is the L61. the big difference is the LAP has variable cam timing. horsepower is slighly higher, but with a slight loss in peak torque. the rest of the car is pretty much the same.
