Exclamation 2009 Twin Turbo Cobalt!?

So I was at the dealership getting an oil change cause I was too lazy (bring own oil and they only charge 10 bucks). The sales manager started talking to me about the 2009 Camaro after I asked what they would cost. He said 35,000 fully loaded. Then he started talking about my car and how they had quit making the 07 SS/SC's recently. He explained that it was to make way for the new 2009 SS Cobalt, which would be a twin turbo ecotec. I said "Twin turbo? Naa, Are you sure?? Ive heard rumors of single turbo SS but..." He said yes he was sure and GM has twin turbo project Cobalts right now. He said they would expect them late 2008. I asked him about AWD and he said they would remain FWD..

I have noticed that they have a twin turbo ecotec on the GM Tuner tour. Or at least looks twin turbo. Pic here.. http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...r-W52C144.aspx

That does indeed look twin turbo.. but that much torq just makes no sense to keep it fwd.

I will be going GTO or Camaro if my Vette aspirations fall through.

Maybe I am not understanding why this would be locked or I would get flamed... I'm just saying what I heard from a dealership. I think its a little crazy but he seemed positive. Just seeing what anyone thought about it....

Its ok to post up what the dealership guy told you.

Its everybody elses responsibility to realize that people that work at dealerships are usually the last to know about stuff like this. Trust me I used to work at a GM/Toyota/Mercedes dealer and my managers had no clue wth they were talking about most of the time. I was always ahead of the game thanks to internet sources (cheersandgears, etc).

Personally I do not think we will be seeing a twin turbo anything out of GM. If we do, I will be utterly shocked.

Yeah I see that now. oops. Didn't look very well. I know what turbos look like and I know what wastegates look like.. I'm just not an expert on the ****. I didn't say it was.. "or at least it looks like it" to me...

I realize dealerships know no more than we do. And the guy was just talking rumor. But its funny that he was so positive about it.. He was trying to convince me after I told him I didn't think so. It makes no sence for them to go twin.

Twin turbo on a 4 cylinder car = ******* retarted. You can get better hp/Tq from teh right single turbo kit then twin anyday.
