2010 cobalt cam sensor issues
2010 cobalt cam sensor issues
Hello, I bought this 2010 chevy cobalt ss for my son this past year that had the timing belt guide break like many engines like this and it caused the valves to smack the pistons and it broke all the rockers on the intake side. It was my cousins car so I purchased it cheap to repair it for my son. Well I bought a new head from ZZ performance. Got new timing set valves new cams plus a lot of other stuff to repair this car. I finally got it all back together and it is throwing cam position sensor codes now. I don’t remember the codes cause after I had these issues I parked the car for a few months cause I had other things going on. Now that I am back to trying to work in it i has went to local parts store to purchase two cam position sensors to replace both of them to see if that fixes the problems. The guy I was talking to in the store said that they require programming if replaced. My question is should I take it to dealership and have it reprogrammed with old sensors sense I replaced cams? Or does that even matter?
