It seems the price of our cars has gone up according to kelly blue book...... the used price on my car has gone up 1500 bucks compared to last year..... don't know how reliable that site is but from what i've seen .... most used ones have gone up as well.

Wow, right before I bought my car there was a red 2010ss with 9k for $14,500. I missed it by 2 days, was so pissed and now I have an SC.....not how I wanted my car search to end but it's all that was around.

Our Canadian Autotrader site shows only 5 Chevy Cobalt SS cars for the entire country. The price goes down dramatically if the car is older than 2010.

1. 2010; 22 291 km; $20,295
2. 2009; 47 000 km; $18,000
3. 2009; 48 000 km; $15,000
4. 2008; 58 000 km; $14,450
5. 2008; 48 000 km; $11,495

10,000 km = 6,215 miles
Cnd$1,000 = US$1,023

Well, I did the same search on AutoTrader and the dealer dropped the price to $19,995. I emailed them saying I'd take the car if they can let it go for close to $19K ... Will see what they say. To bring my car to the level of this 2010 TURBO, I'd have to spend a whole bunch of money on upgrading the tranny (from Getrag F23 to Saab F35), the clutch, the shifter, the rims, and installing the turbo ($3,500 from ZZ Performance)

$17500 here for an 09 sedan, new on the lot, in May of 2010. Had 85 test drive miles on it.

Don't forget LSD, Brembos, NLS, forged internals, suspension, power steering (the reason we have minimal torque steer), RPD if you want it, lip kit, tires.

and what numbers does the 2.4 with a turbo kit put out? Cause you can easily make over 300whp and more than that for torque for quite a bit less than $1000 on the LNF.

My 2009 with 40 miles on it was $15,995 when I bought it last year; but I think the consensus at the time was that I got the best deal on an SS on the boards, so your mileage may vary....

Either way, yes, that is way too much.
