My speedo read fast stock, so I put on 225/45/18s. I think they look good. Check out www.discounttiredirect.com They had the cheapest prices I could find, anywhere. I would recommend a 225/45 or 235/40

discounttiredirect beat um, well the kumho spt is pretty much the same, maybe 1 dollar difference, but discounttire has free ship and no tax.

For 4 Kumho spts, tirerack wants 427.34 shipped, discounttire you can get them for 415.00 shipped. They have a deal that you get 25 bucks off 4 tires so you might want to check that out. Seems it is good for any tire.

Pick the tire you want and see how much it is out the door (tax and shipping if it applies). Do that at tirerack and discounttiredirect. Which ever is cheapest get it from them.

I did the math on these to see how much of a difference there would be. Keep in mind that these numbers may or may not be what you get cause different tire companies differ in what they actually make. If you check a few different tires in the same size they usually won't be exactly the same. So I am not saying that this is exactly what you'll get, these are just size guidelines:

Stock 215/45-18 8.46" wide 25.62" diameter
225/40-18 8.86" wide 25.09" diameter
235/40-18 9.25" wide 25.40" diameter

So, ideally, 225/40s will be about 3/8" wider than stock, and will lower the car about 1/4". Because of the smaller diameter your speedometer will read high by about 2%. When your speedo says 100mph you will actually be running at 98.
235/40s will be almost 3/4" wider than stock, less than 1/8" lower and affect the speedo less than 1%.

Again, the difference you actually get depends on the exact tire you buy.

I checked this when I first got my car cause I hate the stock Pirellis. Back then 215/45 was an odd size that cost a lot more than 225/40. I haven't had to replace my tires yet but when I do I'll go 235/40 on custom wheels.
