Able to cram a bigger engine under the hood?
You think its possible to shove a 2800 2.8L V6 (LP1) under the hood of the cobalt...

i guess if you wanted to have a sleeper...some guys do that **** for fun and then pull up to some poor sap in a little 4 banger with a turbo packed under the hood a blow em away with it. fun if you like playing mind games

it could be done but there'd be some major chopping done to the engine bay, not to mention the suspension would need major adjusting for the extra weight and the gear ratios would need to be changed to keep up with all the extra torque...a lot of work

I don't think the 6 liter ls2 would fit in a cobalt without major modification to the firwall and engine compartment. That would be sick though. I'd have first gear run to 60 mph so you could launch the car having less wheel spin than if it were only to go to around 35.

The 5.3 L V8 is for FWD applications.
The 2.8 has less power than the standard LSJ. The LSJ is underrated don't forget so you end up with a bit more HP even tho the 2.8 is 210.

Do we need to give lessons on the difference between RWD and FWD engines??
And FYI.... the 3500 I-5 is nothing but the 4300 I-6 with a cylinder cut off.... and it sucks horribly....
