My air conditioning is the most random thing ever. Some days I'll turn it on and my car will blow the coldest air ever and it is great. Other days I will have the air on and the compressor will shut off and come on multiple times in a minute and the whole car "bucks". It almost feels like a very slight misfire. The problem is, when it does this the air doesn't blow cold anymore, it's just lukewarm at best. Almost like the vent is on. But 60% of the time it's fine. Anyone know what's wrong?
I looked today with a pressure gauge and it said the air conditioning pressure was in the "green" range, but it was low in the green. Should I put some more freon in? Could that help?

Just remember that it's a closed system so if it's low you have a leak somewhere. You also want to know how much Freon the car takes so that you don't overcharge it
Too much refrigerant can also cause it to shutoff when it is hotter outside. It also pulls on the compressor harder. I added too much coolant after I swapped to LSJ compressor and it would blast cold as long as it wasn't too hot out. If it got too hot out the refrigerant pressure was too high and caused it to kick off after only kicking on briefly. Although excess refrigerant probably isn't the cause here unless someone recently added refrigerant.
